I always loved monkeys, always wanted to be one since I was 14...at the exact midpoint of my 28 year long life. Little did I know, that on a trip to an isolated island in the middle of nowhere, I'd actually become one for the rest of my days.. It all started from a cruise vacation I took off the coast. It was with a bunch of furries, no less...heh. Fursuits, tails (I had my own, a monkey tail that was so long it'd touch the ground), ears, everyone was in their furry gear. We had DJs, raves to go along WITH the DJs, lots of dancing (I'm quite the dancer, myself!), it was pretty much a furry convention on a boat, like the first of it's kind. Then...all these unexplainable things started happening. "Hey monkey boy, you gonna dance anymore?!" My buddy came near me, almost startling me, as I was taking a break at one side of the ship. "I been dancing for like 3 hours..so no, haha, not really! I'm all tired out, man." I replied, a bit annoyed given that indeed, i have danced for so long I could barely walk. With my legs killing me and about to buckle underneath me, I waved him away, motioned a bit at his scaly tail which denoted him as his dragon fursona, and walked toward my room. I practically limped to my room, but I made it there, and just jumped on my bed to knock out. A sigh of relief left me, as I'd forgotten to take my tail off...but I decided to just not bother, and wanted to pass out with it on. I can take it off in the morning, when I'm not so exhausted. Drifting...drifting off into sleep, for a few minutes, then my consciousness began to fade away.........Until that HUGE thunder crack woke me the fuck up. I jumped up from my bed, and started complaining. "Well, WOW, I WOULD be sleeping right now if it weren't for this stupid rain!" The complaining quickly stopped though, not because of my stoic attitude, but because the entire freaking ship made an abrupt stop. It scared the Bajeezus out of me! I quickly ran out of my room, like the pain in my legs never even existed, quickly finding out that that would be the least of my problems. A thunderstorm was right above us. Strangely, it only encompassed the sky right above the cruise ship, and nothing else. There were screams heard from the rave party instead of the usual EDM music that came from it. What the hell? But I understood their terror, as it filled me instantly as a thunderclap blasted the room right next to me, making my life flash before my eyes because for a second I thought I was actually hit. This made no sense...It was almost as if...this storm was specifically attacking us. I checked inside the room that was hit, breathing a sigh of relief to find nobody was inside, because there would have been dead bodies there..I also thought of the horrifying possibility they could have just been fried, but there would be ashes instead. I perished the thought quickly, and ran out to meet my buddies a few rooms down despite all the chaos going on. I wasn't the only one running around, others were finding shelter; I spotted one of them in particular, who happened to be one I was trying to find. He, coincidentally, had a monkey fursona, albeit with a smaller tail that he apparently was also still wearing. I remembered I was still wearing my own, too. I exclaimed, "Dude! Is this some sorcery, or am I going crazy?... This storm is ONLY on top of our ship, while the rest of the sky is completely blue!" That's all that was said, though, as my friend's reply was cut off by another voice..A seemingly disembodied one. The voice boomed, making everyone jump."YOU ALL DARE TO ENTER THE WATERS OF FURNESIA? YOU WILL ALL PAY WITH YOUR DEATHS." More screams are heard, as everyone is looking around wondering who...or what...is making such a loud voice, without the need of any electronics. Suddenly, a tidal wave, twice as big as the already massive cruise ship, began in the distance. My monkey sona friend said to me in terror, "This is going to seem like it is going to be a disaster for us..Listen, if we lose each other and wash up somewhere, come find me." The tidal wave was coming ever closer, faster than anything that size should ever even move. I replied, accepting our unsure but yet very likely fate. "This is really happening...My God, we're probably gonna be fighting for our lives...Those islands..'Furnesia,' they seem to be called..swim ashore to there, okay?!" I pinched myself instantly afterward, because I'd remembered I'd fallen asleep and thought this is obviously a nightmare, as I'd just gotten in my room a while ago..It was after I'd realized I was in fact still awake, that the tidal wave came at us to knock me right back into a state of unconscious darkness. Waves were washing ashore. Small waves, of course, actually normal waves. Seagulls were chirping. Lobsters doing their side walking. And a human wearing a monkey tail like he's also an animal, wakes on the shore. I looked around, wanting to pinch myself to truly wake myself up, but I know this is reality, and there is no escaping it. Looked around, and there was no sign of anyone or the ship...Seeing that I'd washed ashore, I looked at my clothing and saw i was wet from head to toe. Even my tail. Ugh..I take off my shirt, knowing it's just going to weigh me down, along with my socks. Shoes were already taken off back in the room, I noticed...just great. I'd have to walk around this stupid Furnesia place bare-footed. Seeing that I can just replace my shirt once I found people and that I didn't want to lose my tail, I decided to just walk off in just my shorts, as I seem to have my priorities in order... Stopping before the jungle that lay before me beyond the beach, I thought this is it, my furry self is actually really going to have to rely on primal instincts. Given that I was shirtless, I flex some of my muscles, which still had a pump from my workout back in the gym of the cruise ship. I feel as if all of my strengh training, my weight loss, all prepared me for this, even though it originally just for health and vanity. Well, it will certainly be put to good use, now. Breathing in and steeling myself for absolutely anything that may happen, I move forward with the bravest aura I had ever had in my life. ...Which was quickly shot down within the next few hours. "So tired...UGHHHHH I'm so hungry and freakin' scared, IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE?!!!" No sign of any human life...anywhere. It's like I was just singled out out of the entirety of the ship to have survived on this cursed island. I spot an actual monkey swinging around, making me think if I were to just not act like a man anymore, I can actually get me something to eat in the trees. Thinking for a moment, after some looking upward in the trees, I spotted some bananas...Shaking off any thoughts in my head that it would be stereotypical of a monkey lover like me to go climbing for bananas in a jungle, I was just focused on me starving to death. I climbed up...with surprisingly relative ease, might I add; a pretty tall tree, holding on for dear life, but successfully grabbing an entire hand of the fruit. Climbing down quickly before giving myself a chance to even fall, I jumped off a few feet from the ground with the stem in my teeth. A couple of monkeys were staring at me, probably wondering what this hairless primate with a hairy tail was, but I tried paying no mind, as I was nomming down my well-earned food. And then I just...hung out with them. Pun intended. I absolutely admired these creatures, their little fangs that aren't too massive, their tails which some are prehensile and can act as an extra limb to grab onto things..Their feet, which were also prehensile, took me back to humans' prehistoric times where we also had hand-shaped feet. I also loved their athleticism, their...just...everything! I had always dreamed of being one. That one instance of being near them went from one moment to a few days, probably weeks. I'd lost track of time..Somehow, being trapped in the middle of literally nowhere on a deserted island would be a horrific experience to most, let alone the thought of possibly never being found, or finding any of the other humans that were on the ship..But, I was living life like a monkey. In fact, after a few days I was the happiest I'd ever been. Life came at me fast, though, all over again eventually. I was climbing and jumping from tree to tree, always scouting out a new part of the island to see if I was even able to find anyone (usually to no avail), and ooking like a monkey, when I hear drums and savage yells. But these weren't from any of the other primates I've met here like the howler monkeys, or gorillas..these were human! Or...more sophisticated than animals? But it must be humans. What else is out there besides animals, after all? My curiosity took the best of me, as I ran toward the noise on all fours, given that I've gotten so used to running like an animal that I haven't stood on my own two feet for a while. Neither running style would have helped me though, as a net appeared out of apparently nowhere, right over me, and trapped me. There was a lot of yelling and hollering, and these...people came out of the bushes. They were all only wearing loincloths if they were men, and a loincloth with some extra cloth over the breast area for the women. But..these were animals..no, but they're on their feet! My mind was more curious again than terrified; Were these...actual furries?! And I am the only one to know of this that is still alive? Trying to get out of the net, I was unsuccessful on my own, but they let me out, anyways. Two huge, burly felines held me from running, and started tying my hands behind my back, and another, some...fox-woman tied a rope around my neck. Holding the other end of the rope with a smug smile on her face, she....started speaking. "Well, looks like there actually was a survivor from the human ship, after all! Our God was merciful, to you, monkey boy!" I pulled the rope around my neck, but she pulled back with both arms, and was easily able to overpower me, tightening the rope and choking me, and after failing to free my hands also, I spoke with labored breath. "Y...You can talk! You can ALL talk?! Are there only animals on this island? I have so many questions. WHY am I the only chosen survivor?! A-and, why would your God attack us for no reason..." In the last question, I think back to all the people who must have died for no good reason, bowing my head in despair. "Oh, we can't control what our God chooses to do, but I know we can choose to do what to do with you!" I was then forced to walk, tied in rope, as a new prisoner to this bunch of animal-human hybrid savages. The thought of possibly being eaten or used as a slave by these people crossed my mind, and who knew if they had done this horrible treatment to other humans. The drums were eventually heard more loudly, and I looked up. It was an entire village of these people, all kinds of animals that, whether or not their feral selves would live in a jungle, were a part of this tribe. Even children can be seen, having innocent fun playing ball games. These huge guards were near the opening, allowing all of us in. "We're going to have some fun with you, human! Also, get rid of this; you won't be needing it!" The fox-woman grabbed a blade and cut off my fake tail. "Aaaah, much better!" I was pushed again by one of the felines, who demanded me to move forward, to which I complied. I then saw an area that apparently was the prison of these people, for criminals and outsiders, given all the bamboo cages seen everywhere. Many stares were had since I had been forcibly entered, of course. These people seem to hold a grudge against humans..I only wish there was some way to redeem whatever humans had done to them, but their idea of said redemption would most likely be death...or torture. As I was contemplating this, the rope was cut off from my hands and neck, and I was very roughly thrown inside of a cage we were standing in front of, along with being thrown a piece of cloth, before the cage was tied up at the door in front of me. "All members of our tribe, whether prisoners or not, wears only a loincloth. no need for your human garments here, boy. Put that on, and wait til we decide what to do with you." After they all left, except for a huge bull guard that was left to guard me but was looking away, I stripped whatever little clothing I had; and dignity; to put on this tattered loincloth. And therefore join this isolated tribe of primitive animal people against my will. So, I have some dormant God destroying my cruise ship, I end up on a deserted island to live like a monkey, and now, I'm caught and imprisoned by a primal tribe of actual anthropomorphic animals...I could almost write a book on this, and sell it for millions in the human world. But, instead, I was starving. A few hours had passed, and I have had nothing to eat. I asked the huge bull guard who was looking over me and begged for some food, but he just smacked my cage with his massive spear...Well, he certainly was very helpful. I looked around the prison to notice there was not even a single other human here, except for other anthros. A while afterward thankfully, some food was thrown inside. Some mangoes. "It begins, monkey boy! Eat up and walk with us." It was the fox-lady. I devoured a mango and before I got to finish the other, the bull pulled me out already and again, I am back to my walking slavery. Some tribal music was booming, and everyone was what seemed like the tribe's town square. Many were dancing, and to my surprise I felt like dancing too, as the music was very catchy...I got up to the fox to dance beside her, just to mess with her...I saw what almost seemed like a smile on her face, before she pushed me away with a "Stop it!" As I was laughing, I got closer to see some firedancers and the origin of where the music came from, flute players and massive drums, along with lots of singers. It was actually fascinating. I almost want to be with these people..not as a prisoner, but as a free person..And so I wouldn't be alone anymore. "Quickly!" Some gorilla man said, who was probably the biggest guy here, more than even the biggest bodybuilders in the human world on steroids. I was led toward what seemed like a backstage of the performance area... My spine was shaking, I don't know if just from sheer terror, or the possible notion that I really wanted to dance or play music with the people out there. But I was shaking, all right. "You're going to love this, human, I can tell you already love what our tribe has to offer by the enjoyment I can see on your face!" Fox-lady was taunting me, running her finger down my chest. And the most mischievous smile on her face. If it isn't a monkey that can be naughty, it would be a fox. "What do you mean? In fact...What is your name, fox girl?" "Oh, what you should worry about is what YOUR name will be, soon," she retaliated playfully. I almost loved her playfulness, but tried to hide it. There was a quick sight of a monkey who seemed curious to what I looked like; he...almost looked familiar, but he hid when he saw I was looking back. I'd also realized he has got to be the only monkey in this entire tribe, but at least he wasn't the only primate. Speaking of primates, a booming voice was heard...it was the gorilla that had just come to mind. I was then led to stage. With some more guards, I was led to the stage to be seen by everyone. The fire play and music was ceased and now the entire tribe of people had their attention on us, all cheering and screaming and whatever noises their particular species could do. I felt more exposed from the fact I was wearing only a loincloth than from being put on the spotlight so suddenly, as I wasn't used to wearing loincloths. And the idea of "imagining everyone in their underwear" didn't work as everyone else was also actually wearing the same little bits of clothing as I was. Nevertheless, I was used to being in front of crowds, and was curious myself as to what in the living Hell is going to happen to me and just accept my fate. The gorilla continued on. "WE ARE ALL GATHERED HERE TODAY, TO WELCOME A NEW MEMBER TO OUR TRIBE!!!" All the animals cheered their heads off again. I couldn't hold back...I..I was smiling? Who knows if the gorilla guy is lying? Well, he carried on. "This man was caught actually living in the wild jungle, actually surviving all on his own! He lived among the monkeys, like a natural. He would be a perfect addition for us. Now, witch doctor, PROCEED WITH OUR RITUAL! PRAISE OUR GOD FOR BRINGING ONLY THE WORTHY TO US!!!!!" Some mandrill it seemed, came from behind us, wearing what actually seemed like the only clothes worn on this entire island. He had a headdress and cape on and held a staff, which all were colored brightly to mesh with the colors on his face that a mandrill usually has. Primates sure are rare here, but they seem to have relevant positions, except for maybe the shy monkey from earlier. Tall totem poles on either side of us were lit up with fires in the mouths of the totem creatures. It was almost perfect. He then demanded me to stand on an altar at the center of the stage, on my knees. I complied, because there is obviously no escape from this. The mandrill then started to chant words in their own apparent language, and his staff...somehow...lit up. And the entire crowd, who seemed to have gone through this hundreds of times before, chanted together. The mandrill then hit my forehead with his staffed skull, and what happened next was out of the ordinary, that changed my life forever, even more so than the shipwreck. And the change was more literal than figurative; My entire body tensed up, for a few seconds, every single muscle on my body flexed, then started growing beyond a flexed state. Body hair suddenly started erupting on top of every part of my body too, and my nose seemingly disappeared from view, but I was still able to breathe through it. My mouth turned into a rounded snout of sorts, and I felt...bigger teeth, like fangs, growing. Something, around my tailbone, I felt..a protruding bone from it, as well. This confused me; I was merely touched by this crazy mandrill on my head, how am I physically changing?! Any other thoughts quickly went away though as I jumped back and now was seeing my feet change. The big toe moved a bit down my feet and all my toes grew a lot longer..like I had an extra set of hands. Now seeing what was going on instead of only feeling it, it dawned upon me. I, somehow, was being transformed into a monkey. My face was actually developing into a rounded snout like what a monkey has, and I felt my brand new fangs that just grew. My muscles tensed a little less, but I'd realized it wasn't just a big pump, they actually grew, as while monkeys aren't as strong as big apes, they are incredibly strong for their size, so this new muscle was mine to keep. I decided to touch whatever was protruding from my backside and felt something fuzzy; I pulled it in sight, to see a now fully-grown tail, which I was actually able to control perfectly, and had a tight grip..it was also almost as long as my body was! At the same time of seeing my tail, I looked down at my hands, and arms...my entire body eventually. I was completely covered, not in body hair, but in fur, all over my body. I tried screaming, but what came out naturally was a big monkey-sounding screech, which I couldn't believe was from my own mouth. I got up on my new prehensile feet, and moved all five of my toes individually just like I was always able to do with my fingers. When I came out of what seemed like a trance, all the sound of what was around me came to me. I saw the mandrill man in his eyes, distinguishing their color now, seeing that his pupils were dark besides just the irises, and it made me wonder if my eyes were like that now, too. No..it's guaranteed. While the crowd was applauding what was happening to me, I ooked loudly, "OOOH OOH AAH AAH AAH!!!!!!!!" beating my chest like a true wild monkey, and the crowd loved it. I loved this, too, my dream I had had for years had finally come to fruition. Then it dawned on me that all these people in this tribe..most likely went through what I just did, one by one, or probably by groups. I was understanding more and more, now. I looked back to see if that shy monkey was watching. He waved at me like he knew me very well. I waved back, since it made sense who he really was, now. I looked back at the crowd, very ecstatic. That despite us living under a cruel God, I will now be living with this fascinating tribe of anthropomorphic creatures, forever.
