Nora was excited to be heading to a Halloween party. She hadn't been to a costume party in a while, and was dressed up as a White Mage from Final Fantasy. With everything set, the satellite dragon made her way toward the venue at a friend's house, taking a shortcut through downtown to get there quicker since she was running a bit late. 

On the way, she heard footsteps behind her, heavy ones. She didn't want to look back and instead started to walk faster. However, the steps behind Nora sped up as well, giving into a chase. Nora tried to lose them, ducking into an alley in an attempt to get away and hide in a corner while they hopefully ran past her. 

However, Nora wouldn't be so lucky, as instead the assailant revealed themselves, brandishing a machete and a hockey mask. "Looks like I caught my first victim! I'm Jason, and I'll be the last thing you see! I've never seen a dragoness that looks like you before, but that'll just make me watch the life leave your eyes all the sweeter!" he said in manic glee. 

Nora was very scared, and justifiably so! Jason brandished his machete, and getting ready to attack her. "You have nowhere to run! Such an exotic first kill! What an honor it is to be you!" 

It was Halloween, so there was a slim chance this was all an act, but with how real he was acting and with how he was talking it was the real deal, especially since the machete was very much real! Nora had to think fast, she had to use her powers to transform Jason into something quick (who was much more talkative than the Jason from the movies!). She had to transform Jason into anything harmless before she'd be very, very harmed! She quickly started to transmit transformative signals to Jason and closed her eyes to focus, causing him to transform quickly before he could take a swing at Nora. 

Jason's fingers started to merge together, eventually losing the ability to grip his weapon. His hands became even with his arms which then flattened. The skin was becoming thin and transparent, turning into beige wings with black spots all over, and thin black lines on the last third of the wings. Underneath them, an extra set of wings formed that were shorter and a bit thinner. These would have a red base that transitioned into white and then black. Another layer formed undreneath those that were all red, with black dots scattered in the red.

Jason's legs merged together and became one, the ends of his body becoming circular and giving Jason's body a much more oval appearance. Jason practically didn't have legs or feet at all, the only thing at the end of his body a small tuft of black for a tiny tail. The color of his body shifted, most of it turning a bright yellow with black on his back. 

Jason's head was shrinking in size and much of his facial features were being lost. His eyes became multiplied, looking not too unlike a screen door as they became more bulbous. The changing man's head became much hairer, losing his ears and being replaced with tiny antennas at the top of his head. 

The overall size of Jason became much smaller, the fairy large man much tinier. His mass shrank until Jason was now only a few inches tall, his combined mass at most being a foot long. Rather than a human man, Jason had been reduced to a spotted lantern fly. All of his old clothes fell to the ground, along with his mask and weapon as they all laid down in a pile, clattering to the ground harmlessly.

Mentally, Jason had changed to. There was no trace of the human man he once was, instead, going through a complete mental devolution, nothing more than a lantern fly mentally, not even having the mental capacity to register what he used to be. 

The lantern fly was flapping its wings, flying around the air aimlessly. 

Nora had closed her eyes, and suddenly felt something land on her tail. She was worried it was the machete at first, ahd her eyes jolted open upon feeling it, seeing the lantern fly on it. She let out a squeal upon seeing what she had turned Jason into, having an irrational fear of insects. 

"Oh no, oh no, get away! Get away from me!" Nora muttered as she ran away, flicking the fly off with a flick of her tail. She had no idea why she subconsciously turned Jason into a latnern fly, maybe because she was so scared and her fear of insects was associated with that? Regardless, Nora put as much space between the new lantern fly and herself as possible, running toward the venue of the party. 

Meanwhile, the lantern fly was left to its own instincts. It flew off from the alley, flying around in search for light and food. Eventually, the fly found itself getting a bit too close to a bug zapper, intriguded by its light and too dim-witted to know what it would do. And the lantern fly got a bit too close to it as it made contact with the fly zapper and ZAP! 

Nora kept running, eventually making it to the venue of the party, knocking on the door as she caught her breath. Eventually, it was opened up by a snow leopard, who looked at Nora curiously. 

"Hey Nora! Glad you made it finally!" Nafster greeted her, though noticed how out of sorts she was. "Uh...is everything okay? You look like you've seen a ghost!" 

"It's a long story..." Nora said with a weak smile. "I just want to forget about what what happened and have fun at the party! It's in the past so let's leave it there!" 

"If you say so. Come on in! Let's have a good time tonight!" Nafster smiled and held the door open, inviting Nora in.

She smiled. She had no idea what happened to Jason after she transformed him, and frankly, she didn't want to know! The less she had to think about insects, the better, she'd focus on everything at the party so she'd have a good memory of tonight instead of a sour one! So, the satellite dragon got to partying!
