As a bit of backstory for this anime series, it was originally created in the 1990's and has been previously released as a 10-episode OVA. You may have even heard of or seen "Tora" at some point in your furry life. Personally, I had not, but I have watched all of the Tenchi Muyo series and definite comparisons to that series can be made. So far, however, this series is much more action driven, and much less perversion driven, which may excite or disappoint depending on what you might be looking for. Overall, this seems to be a very old school shounen romp full of large amounts of comedic slapstick rather than an oppressively serious tone.

The main plot is that Ushio gets left in charge at his family shrine while his grandfather runs off, and in the process of cleaning up the shed, he finds a Suspicious Trap Door and chooses Examine on Matrix E. After failing a skill check, he falls through the floor and stumbles upon the Beast Spear alluded to earlier in the episode. Attached to it is a fluffy demon that happens to be very truthful about wanting to eat him. The vore folks likely love this guy. Ushio actually does the right thing here and tells him to piss off. He's pinned to the wall, after all. He leaves and boards up the cellar, but only after jabbing at spear embedded in the fluff ball.

As the plot continues, circumstances lead to letting the demon free, but what the demon forgets is that Ushio still holds the spear afterwards, and ends up gaining the powers of the sage who originally sealed the demon, and gets to boss around the big cat. By the end, he settles on calling him Tora because he happens to look tiger-like.

Overall, this is a rather refreshing series for its mix of humor and action. The animation seems fairly consistent, and the depiness can be attributed to the source material. I'm sure it's an upgrade in quality from the original release, and while it will only be a few more episodes in length, it's sure to be enjoyable to both old and new fans. So far, I recommend it, so you'd better watch it, or Tora will eat you! Om nom nom!!
