How to Save A Life

The sorrow inside that mounts to great lengths
That swallows up what remains of our strengths
This feeling that agonizes our cores
For then we wish to not live anymore

The abyss looks back and is calling our souls
For it understands how much We took toll
For this is a feeling that stays inside
And some, this Death Call, they sadly abide

What can one do when someone loses hope?
How can you help them to manage and cope?
What do they feel deep inside their hurt hearts?
Why is it that they are coming apart?

Why must this feeling be truly so cruel?
Why must, over so many lives, it rules?
What can be done to save our dear good friends?
How can we tell them it’s not yet the end…


Be kind and be brave, for the heart wants love
Be the angel sent from heaven above
Be the support that this lost soul now needs
Patch up their wounds so they no longer bleed

Ask them if there is something you can do
Ask them if their tales of woe are all true
And empathize and make them all aware
That there are still people who deeply care

Offer them the chance to come back to light
Show them the path and give them new insight
Show that there are many like them the same
Remind them that for this they won't be blamed

And only stop when at last they are strong
Stay with the broken no matter how long
For these are people just like you and me
Who, from all this pain, they wish to be free…


For this is How to Save A Life in turn
How to help and heal the broken and spurned

This is how you save someone from the grave
And it takes someone who’s righteous and brave

For there are many in this world of sin
Who are in pain and can’t find peace within

But so long as someone bears the torch bright
Can you give all the blind and depressed sight

For this is How to Save A Life from Death
So it’s still too early for their last breath

For this is how to have humanity
For this is how to have true empathy

And when the light shines and the pain is gone
After the fixing of errors so wrong

Can those hurt finally breathe calm at last
For they left all of their woes to the past


So what can you do to save a life here?
For it could be someone who’s close and dear

What can you do to bring them back their joy?
And no longer follow their past pained ploy?

For this is How to Save A Life in time
And allow them to keep living sublime

And when they're able to rise on their own
They’ll beam with strength and know they’re not alone

To save a life, one needs to take action
One will need warmth, patience, and compassion

For one is the beacon to guide them forth
So long we tackle the pain at its source…


This is How to Save a Life and be kind
For this world is meant to be yours and mine

And when one Life is saved, We move on forth
To save another Life who tests their worth…
