Chaos hums softly to himself, reaching out as he flips through the various items in the store front. It wasn’t like the building was new or anything, quite the opposite. The old antique store had been there for years in fact. He’d seen it many times while walking home, so it wasn’t like he was drawn to it because it was new, but there was.. Something about the building today, something strange that pulled him in. The husky didn’t realize it himself but he was being drawn in for a reason, one that would become quite clear soon enough. As he made his way through the aisles he tilted his head curiously, all of the items on the shelves seemed to be rather new in fact as he looked over them he noticed most of them had been recently cleaned. While it in itself wasn’t strange he couldn’t help but wonder if it was n't for him. He shakes his head. That was a crazy thought, he probably just happened to come on cleaning day. Though as his search continues he hears the sound of someone clearing their voice behind him. “Looking for anything in particular?” A soft, masculine voice questions. Making Chaos jump as he looks over his shoulder, seeing a lavish man dressed in robes and various bits of jewelry. He almost seemed to have a wispy aura around him. Wisps of energy flowing all around him as he crosses his arms, leaning up against one of the shelves. “We have many different wares around here, I’m sure we can find the perfect item for you here~” He says with a soft wink, looking over Chaos who simply tilts his head in response. “Oh no it’s okay, I’m just kinda looking around. Not looking to buy much at the moment, but thank you for offering.” He replies with a quick nod, the man, a jackal nods back and turns and starts to walk away. “Well, if there’s anything I can do just let me know~” He remarks with a wave of his hand, turning to make his way out of the aisle, though Chaos likely wouldn’t notice that the Jackal seemed to keep his eye on him, watching him curiously as he continued to dig his way through the items. As he looked he thought a bit of the strange Jackal guy, dude seemed pretty young for owning an antique store. Chaos expected a bit of an older fur to be running it possibly like an old woman or something, then again it could be a family business. But he didn’t think about it too much as something else caught his eye. Perking up slightly he looks over towards a small backroom that caught his eye. The door was slightly open and light seemed to shimmer through the crack in the door. His eyes sparkle a bit as he moves towards it, entranced by the light as he takes a quick look around. Making sure he wasn’t being followed. Not seeing anyone he picks up a bit of speed trying to get into the back room quickly. This wasn’t something he’d normally do but there was just.. Something about this room, something about that glow that he had to know more about. He found himself moving without much control over himself. Stepping into the back room his eyes gaze all around him. Looking for the source of that wondrous glow. It doesn’t take long for his gaze to see A lavish, beautiful lamp laying on a pedestal in front of him. The light from the small window right behind it almost seemed to cast a beautiful light down on it. His eyes flicker a bit as a wide smile spreads across his face. Slowly his hand reaches out to grab it. “Ah? Interested in the lamp I see?” The shopkeeper's voice once more comes out of nowhere. Jumping in surprise he spins on his heels to stare at the Jackal behind him. He wasn’t sure what it was about him, but there was something a bit different about the way he carried himself, dressed in what he could only describe as Djinn-like. Arm cuffs covered in gems, curled shoes and almost seeming to float ever so slightly off the ground. But Chaos knew that couldn’t be right. That had to be in his head. Giving it a quick shake he smiles at the Jackal and rubs the back of his head. “U-uh yeah a bit sorry about that, I didn’t mean to come back here it’s just.” “You felt it call to you, yes?” The Jackal interrupts with a knowing smirk, leaning onto one hand, lightly tapping his finger against the side of his muzzle. Chaos was rather shocked by the sudden response. Especially with how correct he was. Simply nodding in response as the Jackal laughs. “Ahaha~ Yes that is what I thought~ You see my friend this is no ordinary lamp. Legend says it is tied to a rather old and ancient legend. A wish granter lies within the lamp. A genie per-se~” He explains with a wave of his hand, gesturing to the object . “If you truly desire it, I am willing to part with it as need be. I understand that the lamp calls to those it deems worthy. But be careful what you wish for young pup~ Who knows what may happen if you say something you shouldn’t~” While explaining all of this Chaos can’t help but look back at it. He didn’t really believe in this kind of stuff. But at the same time. The fact that this man was willing to just give it away for free with no strings attached he can’t help but smile slightly at the thought of owning such a beautiful object all for himself. He didn’t even really need to think about the offer before offering a hand out. “Sure I’ll gladly take it~” He replies smiling warmly to the Jackal, who offers an oddly sinister grin in response. Holding his hand out he looks into Chaos’ gaze, not saying anything as he gives the Husky a short nod. Reaching back out he takes his hand giving it a firm shake. With that the Jackal snaps his fingers and with a burst of smoke the lamp is now nice and wrapped up. Boxed and ready to be taken home. Chaos was caught a bit off guard but he knew it had to be some kind of sleight of hand. But he doesn’t question it all too much. Picking the box up he looks it over and tilts it slightly. He couldn't hear the lamp moving on the inside, but with the weight of the box he could tell it was in there. Looking up to the Jackal he gives a quick nod. “Thanks again for the lamp~” He says the Jackal simply nodded in response as he stepped aside to let Chaos leave. The walk back is incredibly uneventful. Chaos spends most of the time looking down towards the box, examining it. Keeping it close. Sure he got it for free but he felt like he had to keep this thing safe for some reason. He didn’t exactly believe in magic or genies but he felt almost connected to the lamp in a way. But shaking his head he continues to push on home. As he arrives back at his home he sets the box down on his bedside and stares down at it. Reaching down he quickly pulls it open revealing a mass of newspapers all stuffed around the same vintage lamp. Smiling slightly he gives it another quick look over. Dusting it off with a small hum and smile. Taking the lamp he sets it on the table and looks over it, getting a bit of a closer look now. Really looking at all of the minor details as he examines it. Though turning it around to the back he quickly takes note of what appears to be a minor note right on the back. Something was engraved onto the golden lamp. It was hard to make it out as it was covered in copious amounts of dust. Narrowing his gaze slightly he shakes his head and blows out a nice puff of air, trying to blow the dust off of it. While he was able to get most of it off. A good amount seemed to cling to the lamp. Hanging on no matter how much he blew at it. He could make out some of it. Saying something about “Those who… Shall be… Granted..” The rest of it was too faded by the dust to properly make out. Shaking his head he cradles it in one arm before rubbing at it with his elbow trying to get all of the dust off. Though with each rub the lamp slowly starts to glow brighter and brighter. Starting off as a dull bull color, slowly turning to a deep blue then a brighter and finally a mix of a shining neon sky blue. As he pulls his hand away to try and read the text again but as soon as he pulls his hand back he’s met with a bright flash of light. Reeling back he grits his teeth, shielding his eyes as he drops the lamp. Almost right away he curses under his breath gritting his teeth as he can’t believe that he just dropped the lamp. Though the sound of it crashing against the ground never comes as he slowly opens his eyes once more. Vision is still blurring a bit as he reaches up to rub at his eyes. As his vision comes back, however, he's met with a curious sight. In front of him was the lamp. Floating in front of him, jaw dropping a bit as he goes to reach out for it once more. “T-there’s no way this is real..” He mutters quietly to himself, unsure of how to make sense of what he was looking at. There was no way this was actually happening. Magic wasn’t real, especially not like this. But he couldn’t deny that the lamp was just floating in front of him glowing with a bright light and leaking out some kind of smoke. “Oh shit.. Did I just summon a genie?” He questions, both excited and worried at the fact, after all they could grant wishes. But at the same time the wishes could easily be twisted and turned into something completely different. As he thought over this he failed to notice the air slowly twisting around him. Small wisps of smoke swirling around him, slowly moving up his legs. Wrapping around his lower body as he steps back. The glow slowly dies down as he reaches out for it once more. Grasping it in his hands before pulling it close. Trying not to drop it again as he looks it over. Before he can get a good read of what it says he feels his stomach rumble loudly. Reaching a hand down he rubs at his gut with a frown. He was still starving after all. He couldn’t help but lick his lips. He hadn’t eaten lunch and only had a small meal for breakfast. Of course he was still hungry. Setting the lamp back down he turns and starts to make his way out of the room. Though before he can get too far his gaze slowly turns backwards towards the lamp once more. He couldn’t bring himself to be too far away from it, so turning around he smiles and picks up the lamp. Giving it a quick look over before snapping it around his waist. Letting it hang from a small latch that seemed to appear around his waist at some point. He didn’t quite remember having it. But something in the back of his head told him he didn’t have to worry about it. So he didn’t as he turned to leave. Still hungry he heads right for the kitchen. Setting the lamp down on the counter he kneels down and quickly starts to get to work. Deciding to just cook up a quick little bit of soup. Getting out some spices, and starting a pot. Though as he grabs out the vegetables he frowns and looks at the very few, and very not fresh vegetables. Sighing in annoyance he stands back up. Shaking his head and crossing his arms he looks back to everything he’s made so far, he couldn’t just waste all of this, But he didn’t really have much of a choice. “Dammit.. I wish I kept these things a bit more fresh.” He mutters to himself, lightly drumming his fingers across his arm. However there’s a sudden flash of light and a swirl of smoke that wraps around his lower body before snaking upwards towards the vegetables that he had set on the counter. They wrap around the rotting food and suddenly time almost seems to start turning back. Slowly shifting and growing new. His jaw drops as he steps back. Stuttering slightly. “W-what the?” Is the only thing he’s able to properly get out as he turns to look at the lamp behind him. And then to the vegetables again. “U-uh okay then..” He looks around and towards the lamp seeing the smoke retreating back into it. “Uh thank you for your help!” He calls out to the assuming genie. After all, it was really the only explanation he could come up with. That made at least some sense. Food didn’t just turn fresh like that, and he couldn’t have done that on his own.. Right? Yeah no he didn’t have any magic powers. It sucks that he wasted one of his wishes on that, but that just meant his last two would have to be extremely amazing. Which he could think more of when he was done eating. He cooks up the rest of his soup, pouring himself a nice bowl as he takes a seat. While he’s eating he lightly taps his foot against the ground frowning a bit as it was starting to feel rather numb now. He couldn’t quite feel his foot, in fact he couldn’t feel either of them. They were both still there but they felt like they weren’t fully there. Almost like it was in some semi solid state. He wasn’t sure why it was happening but his mind was more so focused on what he could do for his next two wishes. He could ask for wealth or fame. Or maybe something else like a lifetime supply of something he really liked. There were so many options. Though alongside it, and one he hadn’t thought of until now was the repercussions of the wish. How the unseen genie could twist and transform his body. It was a bit worrying, he had to make sure he had to word it perfectly. One wrong word and he could get crushed by a giant pile of gold, or turn into some pulsing mass of powerful muscle. He shutters a bit at the thought but shakes his head. If he thought too much about it, there's no doubt it would just fulfill itself. As he comes to the end of his meal his clothes would start to shift and change around him. The first to go was his shirt, his fairly average top was slowly shrinking around his body, splitting down the center as it turned into a vest, the white coloring dying into a deep green with golden highlights. Something that gave off a mystical, but wealthy look. The smoke slowly starts to pour out from the lamp once more as Chaos hears a small voice in the back of his head. “Would you wish for power? You’re the master of the lamp, there is no genie holding this power. It is all your doing.” A familiar voice that echoes through his head. It was the voice of the Jackal who ran the store. Perking up in surprise Chaos takes a quick look around. Staring around until his eyes finally land on the lamp once more. Tilting his head he quickly gets up, making his way over to it as he picks up the lamp once more, looking it over with a tilt of his head. “What in the? Wait.. So what exactly do you mean by that?” He asks, remembering the writing on the side of the lamp. Turning it over he reads the inscription on the back. “Those who rub the lamp shall be granted the power of the genie if they so desire it.” His eyes widen a bit at the thought. “Wait, hold on. So If I have the power of a genie I don’t have to worry about like.. Them messing with my wish right?” He questions, looking around once more, getting a small chuckle in the back of his head. “Certainly but that being said. You would be connected to the lamp. It would be a part of you, if you don’t want this you could simply bring it back to me, and we’ll forget any of this ever happened okay?” The voice of the Jackal offers with another laugh. Chaos looks down to the lamp, tilting it back and forth slightly as he feels the smoke pouring out and around him. Swirling around his form, hearing the voice in the back of his head the option weighing heavy on his mind. He knew there had to be some kind of catch here. But at the same time he would get so much from this, with the power of a genie. He could do pretty much anything he wanted. Depending on what was granted to him he could even live forever. A small smile spreads across his face. Finally deciding on just what he wanted. Nodding he shuts his eyes and sets the lamp on the counter once more. “Y-yeah I’ll take it, I’ll accept the power of the genie~” He replies with a pleased laugh. The voice in his head chuckles slightly but says nothing more as the lamp in front of him begins to shake and rumble, rattling the entire area around him, almost seeming to shake the house itself as oddly enough it doesn’t seem to rattle him. Though he quickly realizes the reason why was because he was now because he had no feet, or rather his legs seemed to trail off into an abundance of wispy smoke that swirls around his lower half, one paw already fully transformed into a cloud while he could already see his other one fading. “W-wow this is. So weird, but I think I can already feel the power coursing through me~” Chaos muses aloud raising a hand as he clenches his fists, practically feeling the magic flowing through him as he exhales softly. Trying to hold himself composed, after all he felt like he didn’t need to get too excited and ruin this cool moment. Though as his other paw transforms he hears the Jackal’s chuckle in the back of his head once more the smoke pouring from his lower body now moving directly towards the lamp, connecting his body to it as he could almost feel a part of him within the lamp now. “Of course there is one stipulation to having such power. You can’t just use that power all willy nilly after all. We have rules, regulations~” The voice explains, he could practically feel the Jackal’s grin in the back of his head, sending a shiver down his spine, crossing his arms Chaos frowns. “Huh? What do you mean?” Chaos questions narrowing his gaze as he looks towards the lamp once more, the thought flickering across his mind to grab it and stop whatever was happening, but he knew he couldn’t just give up this power. This form, all of it was so much, he could do whatever he wanted. But at the same time. “I didn’t agree to anything like this? You said yourself that I’d be able to take the power for myself. What rules would there be?” He questions frowning a bit hoping he wasn’t just tricked into something, and judging by the Jackal’s laugh it would seem that’s just what was happening. “Well you see there is only one real rule here, if you wish to use this power. You must of course do your job. You are a genie now, bound to your word of course~” The voice explains as the smoke swirls around his wrists, forming into a set of large armbands encrusted with various gems. Reaching a hand down he feels it over curiously, tilting his head to the side Chaos shutters as he feels a strange tingle shoot through his body as he’s bound by the bands glowing for just a moment as his clothing shifts even more, pants growing more baggy and heavy, while a neckband wraps around his neck, forming into a bright golden piece that shone brightly in the light. “Wait as in.. I have to grant other people’s wishes?” He questions as the smoke finally forms into a familiar looking Jackal, stretching slightly as a grin spreads across his face. Offering a short nod to Chaos as he turns to leave. “That’s right cutie, it’s an easy job don’t worry. After all, I’m sure you’ll find a way to make it fun~ How do you think I’ve made it all this way~” He says with a laugh. “Once you’ve granted enough wishes you’ll be able to pass on your mantle and walk free. Best of luck kid!” He calls back out, hurrying out, not letting Chaos get a word in as the new Genie frowns. He isn’t able to think on it for too long as he’s pulled and tugged backwards, sent spiralling backwards into the lamp. Yelping in surprise, trapped within the lamp. The next few years pass by oddly quickly. After sometime people came by to clean out his stuff, taking it in for safety, but eventually is let out. He spent the first few years granting wishes as people asked for them. Though slowly over time things start to change, he starts to get a bit bored just granting their wishes as they were. Slowly bit by bit he began to twist their wishes. Starting small as just a little payback for people using his wishes for personal gain. Some rich guy wished for Impossible wealth he’d give it to him, but he’d never be able to reach it. The wealth was always hanging just out of reach of him and others. Impossible to collect. Within the next 1000 years he had watched the world pass by through moments of when he was freed from the lamp. With his growing power he had begun to twist their wishes more and more. Someone asked to reach new heights, they would slowly find themselves starting to inflate. Swelling larger and larger as they floated up and anyway. Asking for a new lease on life. Chaos misheard them, transforming them into a pet with a new leash. Each and every wish was made to what they wished, but twisted in a strange and kinky way. It had become almost a craft of sorts. He had to admit, one of the most interesting wishes he had fun with was against some guy who wanted to be loved by everyone. It was a very vague wish. One that he could take in any way he wanted. Eventually deciding on turning him into something everyone would love, a cute anthro bunny. With a nice hypnotic sway to their ass, drawing everyone who saw them to them, providing them with plenty of “love” At this point he had lost track of how many wishes he had granted. And he could feel his power growing, despite that he knew he still had a long time until he could finally be free again. But he had grown to realize that simply meant learning about mastering his craft, and he would certainly have fun with that.
