"Nafster, you're not going to believe what I just got! It's probably the coolest thing I've seen! I didn't expect to find something like this at a yard sale!" 

"Alright, alright. What is it Woxy?" Nafster asked with a soft chuckle. 

The snow leopard had answered a phone call from his friend of the same species. The two had agreed to hang out that day and play some video games for a while. They had been talking for a little while but never quite had a chance to hang out in person. Today was going to change that. Woxy was stopping by a few yard sales on the way over to Nafster's to see if she could find anything cool or noteworthy they could try playing. What the snow leopard lass wound up finding was far from anything she ever expected. 

"I don't wanna say! I want it to be a surprise for when I get there! But I know we're both gonna totally love it!" she added on with a small giggle unable to contain her excitement. 

"If you say so." Nafster couldn't help but join in on the laughter. "About how far away are you?" 

"I want to say...5 seconds!" Woxy said back happily, only moments later a knock on Nafster's door was heard. "And here!" 

"I'll be right there." Nafster hung up and walked over to the door, greeting his snow leopard friend on the other side. "Hey Woxy, you made good time." 

"I always try my best to! Plus I came with this awesome surprise!" she revealed what she was holding behind her back. It was a thin rectangular box with a red square in the corner with the Nintendo Switch logo. Looking at the actual artwork and logo for the game would prove something interesting. There were familiar animal characters spread across it, as well as a singular human. Large heads, peg-like arms and legs, yup; it was Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch! 

"That can't be real, what's inside it?" Nafster wasn't buying it quiet yet. 

"The game of course!" Woxy retorted proudly, cracking the case open to reveal the copy of Animal Crossing, right size and everything. 

"How'd you even get that!? The game doesn't even have a release date yet!" Nafster was taken aback by the sight he was seeing. 

"I just found it at a garage sale! Owner said they didn't want it anymore. I don't know why they wouldn't, Animal Crossing is so fun and the characters are so adorable!" 

"I gotta agree with you there!" Nafster chuckled. "Let's get the Switch set up and start playing! An opportunity to play a game this cool so early is once in a lifetime!" 

"That's why I'm here with it!" Woxy joined in on the laughter. "Let's play!" 

Woxy entered as the two snow leopards went into the living room and Woxy sat back on the couch as Nafster began to set up the television. That was the downside to electronics, so many wires and not enough HDMI inputs to put them in. With Nafster not having any free slots in his TV, it took a little longer than would be preferred and as such they began to make some small talk. 

"So, who's your favorite Animal Crossing character?" Nafster spoke back to Woxy, sitting with crossed legs as he tried to untangle wire. 

"I always loved Isabelle! She's just too great all around! Cute, hard working, adorable clothing, what's not to like?" she answered with a small giggle. "What about you? Who do you like?" 

"One that I personally think doesn't get enough love. Sable, that one quiet hedgehog who knits the clothes. I like her whole character story, it's really in depth." Nafster responded. "Plus I think the shyness she has going on is cute in a way." 

"Fair enough! She's not too bad either!" Woxy smiled. "How long have you been a fan of the games?" 

"About since it came out. One of my first Gamecube games actually." he answered. "You?" 

"Just about the same! Something is just so charming about it I can't but my finger on it!" 

Nafster nodded in agreement as he finally untied everything and got it set up. "There we go! That took forever!" Nafster wiped some sweat off of his brow. "Now we can start playing! Toss me the game!" 

Woxy nodded as gave Nafster the game, of who put the cartridge into the machine and sat on the couch with Woxy, the two with giddy smiles on their face. The game started up without a hiccup, and after the Nintendo logo passed by them they were greeted to the title screen! The possibility it was just some fake game someone pawned off to them seemed less and less likely and it seemed more and more genuine! 

"Okay, I don't know how they managed to get this but it's pretty awesome!" Nafster giggled with giddiness. 

"I know right! Let's start off and make our character! I wanna get right into the action!" Woxy joined in with the giggling. 

Nafster nodded as they pressed start and began the game. This time around, they had spawned in a train just like the original game. The two snow leopards looked to each other and smiled, enjoying the throwback reference. It was silently moving for a few moments, before a familiar blue and white cat showed up. 

"I always liked Rover, he's got a good smile. I also thought he was a girl when I was a kid." 

"I can see that." Woxy nodded. "And I agree! He's a pretty cool cat!" 

Turning their attention back to the game, Rover sat down across from them, looking at them with a smile. "Welcome! You're going into the new town right?" he asked in his text bubble. "Oh!" his expression turned surprised. "You're the new assistant to the Mayor! You are going to have some big shoes to fill!" 

"Wait, so you don't have Isabelle in this game?' Woxy titled her head. "Cause we're not going to play as Isabelle...are we?" 

"And you!" Rover turned his head slightly. "You're coming to set up the store! That business with the sisters! Yup! No denying that's you! I hear the location for the store is really good, in the heart of the town! And close to Town Hall so you two will probably see each other a lot!" Rover laughed. 

The dialogue only confused the two snow leopards even more. "Now there's two people where the character is? And one of them is an Able Sister? This is starting to feel almost targeted to us now..." 

"This should be a fun experience for the two of you! You'll love the town and citizens! I just know it!" Rover clapped his hands together. 

"Uh...I'm starting to feel a little uneasy...not about the game but in real life..." Nafster said, holding his stomach. 

"Now that you mention it, I do too." Woxy agreed, doing very much the same. 

Looking at the screen, the last text they see before it went black was "I'm sure you'll have a great time here Isabelle and Sable!" After that, the next thing the television did was shine a variety of bright colors, notably a yellow and brown. The two snow leopards held their arms up to block the brightness, which while helping would cause them to notice their bodies start to transform. 

Woxy's gray and white fur started to change into a more defined color, with yellow fur taking control of it. Around Woxy's mouth, the fur would become white. All of her spots had become apart of the yellow, gone entirely for a solid color coat of fur. 

Meanwhile, Nafster would have his snow leopard fur turn a redish brown color, which was over most of his body now. His hands and feet on the other hand would become beige. Unlike Woxy, Nafster's whole face wouldn't be the same color as the rest of his body (mostly), instead it would be beige like his hands and feet. 

The two snow leopards had different fur patterns entirely, those belonging to Isabelle and Sable respectively. 

"I think we're turning into them! This is Isabelle's fur!" Woxy shouted out, looking at her fur with wide eyes. 

"You're right! Oh man that's not good!" Nafster spoke up just as panicked. 

However, the transformation was only just beginning. Woxy's still long tail slowly but surely started to shrink in size, now only a small cute one a few inches long. The tip of it was white and the base yellow. Her muzzle would become smaller as well, nearly becoming flat entirely. Her large and bright pink nose, unlike her fur would darken until it was a solid black whilst shrinking in size. Woxy's triangular ears would take on a more oval shape, suddenly flopping to the sides of her head while they became wider, a darker shade of yellow fur growing over them. 

Nafster's ears on the other hand would take on a more defined circular shape, staying where they were originally. However, out from the back of his head a multitude of quills formed out of his hair, until Nafster's hair was gone entirely replaced with said quills. His tail became both thinner and shorter, even moreso than Woxy's had. It ended it a thin point, with a small spiral pattern in it. Nafster's muzzle would lose it's wideness, although kept it's original size. 

"We're them! We look like-AH! We sound like them too!" Woxy put her hands to her mouth, hearing the " Animalese coming out from her. 

"Oh no you're right!" Nafster said back as his language shifted along with Woxy, though also had the addition of a higher pitch than the tone of a male's. Nafster's knees suddenly locked together as he felt a strange sensation at his crotch. "And Sable is a girl! I'm turning...into a...girl..." Nafster's eyes suddenly clouded. "Yeah...why wouldn't I be...?" 

"Nafster what are you saying?" Woxy looked to her friend in shock at what he had said, only for her eyes to cloud as well. "We were always women! ...Right?" 

Both their body postures drooped as the last of the transformation began to flow through them. Woxy's feet slowly shrank as the digits on the paws would merge together into simply one. After that, they started to round out at the tip, taking on a peg-like look to them. Her purple claws retracted back into the tips of her fingers, and soon her fingers into her hands. Woxy's fists curved into oval ends not unlike her feet. After that, both Woxy's arms and legs became shorter, her body shrinking due to that. As such, her plaided skirt and flannel top started becoming much too large for her. The same could be said about her white tee and red bow on her neck. Woxy's long, purple hair started to rapidly going back into her scalp, though not all the way. Instead, at Woxy's forehead it would form into two bangs that puffed out. Her hair shifted into the same yellow color as her new fur. Woxy's eyes transformed on top of that, becoming smaller and black in color. Her eyebrows became attached to her eyes in the process, looking like a splitting image of Isabelle everywhere but the clothes. 

Nafster would have a bit more to the remainder of his changes. Namely in the gender department. Between Nafster's legs, his manhood would slip back into his body, leaving femininity between his legs as the interior genes altered to make them a female fully. Nafster's feet and hands both had their digits merged together, taking on the same peg-like appearance that Woxy's now had. Her eyes became larger, taking on an oval look. They even drooped, staying that way with light brown eyelids covering up half the whites of the eyes. Her pupils became black shortly after that. Nafster's nose turned into a dark black color, mouth moving to be just under that, when Nafster would talk it would look like her nose was twitching more than anything. Like Woxy, Nafster's body would shrink in size, arms shortening and legs shrinking, the ends being where her former elbows and knees were. Nafster was now Sable, just needed her clothes transformed to fully complete the transition. 

The two's clothing would start to change to fit their new selves. For Woxy, the flower in her hair moved to the center of her head, contorting into a red band as the center changed into a set of bells. It tied up a bundle of hair, with the ends of them a dark yellow like her ears. Her white top shrank with her body, staying mostly the same simply just now fitting onto her body perfectly. Her green shirt became connected with two buttons forming on the front. The green became lighter, with a darker shade around the collar and front. The sides had pockets of the same green color. The bow around her neck had fallen down where the opening of her blouse was, becoming a thin piece of string tied in a bow as well. Woxy's skirt stayed the same length, just proportionate to her new short size. The ruffles smoothed outed as the red plaid became a dark blue skirt complete with tail hole, making her fully Isabelle. 

Nafster's clothing transformation would be a lot more noticeable. Her hoodie melted away entirely, revealing his simple white tee shirt underneath. Her pants merged with her shirt, the legs starting to rid up ever so slightly. The sleeves of Nafster's shirt went up her arms, becoming thin straps in both width and mass in general. The back of Nafster's clothing vanished entirely everywhere except her waist, where they were two white stripes attached to the front and tied together at the back to keep the new apron on her body nicely. Some of the white color stayed while shades of pink began to form in squares taking on a plaid pattern, making Nafster fully into Sable. 

The two were now Isabelle and Sable, both in body and mind. They were still in their daze from the recent mental changes, so when the light of the screen started to extend over them, they had no time or even desire to react, too out of it to try anything. The light engulfed not only them, not only the room, but the entire house itself. Underneath everything, reality was shifting rapidly. Everything began shaking, though in a controlled manner rather than one similar to an earthquake. 

As the light started dissipating, Woxy and Nafster, now Isabelle and Sable would see a carpeted wooden interior along with windows forming. Outside said windows, there were landscapes moving by at moderate speeds. They would find themselves sitting down next to each other on a seat, looking across a table to a cat sitting on a seat like theirs with one attached to the back. They were on the train, looking at Rover just like the game was before they wound up transforming.

"Alright, well I'll leave you two be! I got to go!" the cat got up, bowing before walking away. 

"You're name was Sable right?" Isabelle turned to the hedgehog. "I think I'm the one going to be doing your paperwork to run your business once we get into town! How fun!" she said with a smile. 

"Yeah." Sable nodded, offering a small smile to be polite before looking out the window. 

"I hear so many good things about the town! And I'm sure your business will be super successful! There's no clothing store there so you can be the first!" 

"That's good. Makes it a little less stressful." 

"Hooray for less stress!" Isabelle cheered. "I'm sure you'll do amazing things! I'm sure we both will! This is the start for a new chapter for us! Let's make sure to make it count!"
