Nobel Dog Invention - Part II: Super Solvent

In Squigcorp Industries Lab, the Z-Team was taking a well deserved relaxing break on the lab terrace. Zee-zee sat on a deck chair, reading a picture book about the latest inventions made in the lab. Maddie was in her mousie bikini enjoying the tickling sensation of the jacuzzi in the kiddie pool. In the larger pool, Molita Rat suckled on a baby bottle of fruit juice as she lay down on a lilo and Brian was paddling across the pool with his legs as he was seated on a pink and orange inflatable dragon. As scientists, Brian and Zee-zee wore waterproof swimming trunks, while Molita and Maddie wore swimwear diapers.

The administrator Star Bryce was very impressed with the Z-Team's latest successful invention of an Automatic Diaper Changer and granted them a two day vacation on the terrace top, while her workers mass produced the new machine and installed them around the lab rooms. It was now sunset and it would soon be time the little youngsters left to take their bath. "Hey Molita!" Brian yapped "May I race you?". "I'm up for a little racing" said Molita finishing the last drop of juice in her bottle. "Okay!" said Zee-zee announcing for the race "On your paws! Get wet! Go!". Brian bounced and kicked on his dragon, while Molita kicked paddled on her lilo. The odds seemed equal for both little racers.

Then Brian's dragon bumped against the edge of the pool, followed by Molita's lilo. But the lilo bounced out of the pool and onto the patteo. "I won!" cheered Molita. "No you didn't" said Brian "I reached the pool's edge first". "Well I got ahead of you past the edge" Molita retorted. "Doesn't count" Brian argued. "Sure does" said Molita. Then the two started splashing at each other and giggling. Their friendly water fight was broken up when Maddie announced "It's getting late. I think we'd better change out of our swim gear". "We were having so much fun" Brian said disappointed. "It'll be more fun in the bath" Zee-zee chipped in "Think of all those bath toys". The friends all nodded and smiled as they left the terrace.

In the Z-Team's room, the Bubblicious Bathtub Machine was full of warm water, rainbow bubble bath foam and some rubber animal toys. Molita and Maddie helped each other scrub and wash while Zee-zee and Brian did the same. It felt much nicer to be squeaking clean and fluffy. "Here comes Zee-zeebra" said Zee-zee bouncing the rubber zebra across the bath. Maddie jokingly squirted Zee-zee with water from the trunk of the rubber elephant. Molita fetched a Blue Whale toy and squirted water at Brian through its blowhole. Brian picked up an octopus toy and squirted water like ink right back at Molita. Zee-zee squirted water via the zebra's mouth. After their little squirt fight, they drained the tub and got out to get dry.

"I wonder what we'll invent next" said Brian rubbing the towel between his ears. "Maybe an Automatic Pullup Changer" Zee-zee put in hopefully as he finished drying off. "I'd like to recalibrate the Sandwich Maker Machine to make hamburgers and cheeseburgers" Maddie said. "Yummy, yummy!" said Molita. Brian and Zee-zee slipped on new pullups, while Maddie took her turn on the newly installed Automatic Diaper Changer followed by Molita. "I did make one adjustment to Sandwich Maker Machine before our vacation" said Maddie. "Of what kind?" Brian asked. "This" Maddie told him pointed to a keypad with coloured numbers. She pressed the number 4 and pressed some other buttons. From out of the sandwich slot came four toasted chocolate and strawberry jammy sandwiches. "See" said Maddie "It can make 2 to 9 of the same sandwich, so you won't have to press all those buttons again and again". "That's handy" said Zee-zee.

After their night time snack, it was now time for bed. "I can't wait to be put to the test" Molita said. "You've got two...no five...err eight hours to wait silly" said Maddie with a giggle. Brian and Zee-zee made sure to use the Mechanised Potty before getting into their beds. Maddie boosted Molita up into her crib cage and shut its door. As Maddie went to her her own bed, Molita lay down in the cushions and played with her new toy. Her toy was a giant acabus with alphabet blocks, number blocks and picture blocks. The abacus made up one wall of the cage so that Molita had quite a variety to play with and wouldn't get bored. The four friends snuggled up, put their arms around their plush toys and fell asleep.

The following morning after breakfast, the Z-Team were in for a surprise. They were going to a collaboration project with the C-Team in the chemistry lab. The C-Team consisted of the leading scientist Science Dog, his assistant Lea Bunny, the Technician Marshall and the lab rat Kisu. The C-Team was making preparations as the Z-Team entered the lab. "Ah! Good" said Science Dog "Glad you could come". "We've got a big project and Star is depending on us" Lea added.

"What do you need us to do?" Maddie asked "We specialise the electronics area, not chemistry". "Not to worry" said Science Dog "We take care the mixing, but we are a little short handed to get the work done and our deadline is fast approaching. All you have to do is work on some of our machines and try out some of those products". "What do they do?" Brian asked. "All sorts of things" said Lea "Clean your fur, feed you, make a nice smell and all that salsa Jazz". "Just for that" said Marshall "We have created a new diaper to cover all accidents".

The C-Team lab rat Kisu showed everyone the new super thick, bulgy, crinkly diaper she wore, which had mint green tapes, ruffles and front panel and was decorated with the traditional science design prints. "This new Labbies Diaper's cool!" Kisu squealed happily as she bent down and stuck her padded butt around to show off, her tail wavering around. "That's impressive" said Maddie. "Made from Sodium Polyacrylamide Polycotton and Biopolyethylene" Science Dog said beaming "Twice the absorbency, twice the thickness, twice the comfort. Twenty four hour power". The Z-Team did not understand what those chemicals were, but the new diaper seemed promising.

"Will I need to wear one?" Molita asked. "For precautions, yes" answered Lea. "Does that go for me too?" Maddie asked. "Yep" said Marshall "Even I wear one" and he pulled the rim of his shorts to show his Labbies diaper, though it was showey enough with the shorts on anyway. First Molita lay down on the Automatic Diaper Changer in the lab. The cartridge was loaded with the new Labbies diapers.

"Mmm" Lea thought then said "This might be an opportunity to test our new changing product". "For instance" said Science Dog and he held up a beaker of magenta pink powder "This Talcum Powder, which I mixed with my own home grown silicate crystals makes such a such a lovely smell". The leading C-Team scientist gave it sniff and sighed as he enjoyed it's wonderful scent. Zee-zee went to inspect it and also seemed satisfied by the smell of the product. "Okay" he told Science Dog "We'll give it a shot".

Marshall took the beaker and with Maddie's assistance loaded it into the Powder Tube of the Automatic Diaper Changer. Brian started up the machine and at once the machine claw removed Molita's diaper. But the machine stopped as the claws spread out. "What is happening?" Brian asked. Then with a might POOF! a large lump of pink powder spread all over Molita's diaper area, legs and tummy. The machine then squirted some baby oil and brought out one of the new Labbies diapers. Molita felt funny as the thick surface was wrapped around her bottom, waist and legs.

When the diaper change was done, Molita rolled off and came down from the changing machine. It took some getting used to in order to waddle let alone walk in this new diaper. "What was up with the talcum powder?" Brian asked. "I guess the tube's interior and nozzle couldn't handle the pressure from the disperse powder" said Science Dog. "Remaking those powder tubes out of quad-carbonate plastic should fix it best" Lea suggested. "Now it's your turn Maddie" said Marshall.

So Maddie removed her dungarees and went through the same changing process as Molita. One of those days, the Z-Team hoped to recalibrate the Automatic Diaper Changers to remove and replace clothes as well as change diapers. When Maddie had been changed, she also felt strange in the new thick Labbies. Maddie had stretch the bottom of her dungarees crotch panel, but she got the snap fasteners together. The diaper still showed through the gaps of her crotch panel and her legholes. "Gosh!" Maddie commented "I'll need a bigger size of dungarees to cover this up".

Science Dog and Lea outfitted themselves with protective lab coats, yellow surgical gloves and safety glasses. Zee-zee and Brian operated some Mixamatic Vats, while Maddie assisted Marshall to connect and disconnect tubes between the vats, so that Science Dog could splice chemicals as he saw fit. Lea inspected the chemicals and marked a grid board with coloured stickers to take note of the mixtures they made. The vats were divided into four areas: Changing Supplies, Bathtub Products, Drinks and Food Stuff.

The two labs rats Kisu and Molita taste tested some of the C-Team's newly mixed snack recipes. Snacks that they liked, they ate them all up. Snacks that they didn't like, they discarded into a pile. The best of snacks were Smoky Chocolate Chips, Oatmeal and Banana Crisps and Carrot and Ginger Sticks. "Mmm, Mmm!" Molita mumbled in satisfaction "It sure beats Beantroot Yoghurt". "So how are our two food critters doing?" Lea asked. Molita and Kisu both at once started telling what was good and bad. Lea marked a second grid board with food labels to put in the good and bad sections of the board.

Suddenly Science Dog was distracted. "Can't stop, need to go!" he yelped and he rushed to the Mechanised Potty near the lab entrance and just about made it "Whew! No record breaking for us scientists" Science Dog said as he flushed the potty and replaced his pullup. "Must be naptime now" said Zee-zee his eyes getting tired. "Yes I agree" Marshall yawned. "I'll get our napping material" said Lea as she hopped to the lab entrance. Shen then returned with a bundle of sleeping bags.

"That's enough for all us" Lea said and lay six sleeping bags down "Marshall, Maddie. Would you fetch the rat cage?". Both Mechanic and Technician went out and carried in a playpen with crisscrossing bars a swinging door and a roof. "We haven't got a second one" said Marshall "So you two will have to share it". "Okay" Kisu agreeed. The six lab workers snuggled up into their sleeping bags, while the lab rats cuddled up together in the playpen. By now Molita was used to the Labbies diaper, so it didn't bother her anymore. But Maddie wasn't so sure as she lay down. With that, all youngsters fell asleep, hoping to achieve great results later that day.

After naptime, the young scientists and lab rats got to work on the mixed chemicals. Soon there a long shelving tank had a range of beakers, vials, bottles and jars and many coloured liquids. Some were fizzing, some bubbled, some frothed and others rippled. Lea measured the temperatures, densities and pressure levels, while the Z-Team adjusted the settings for each container. "Are of them ready yet?" Brian asked as cooled down a range of Bath Products. "I think they are just about ready" Lea said.

Science Dog opened one door of the tank and picked up two similar beakers with a pink liquid and a lilac liquid and turned to Kisu and Molita "Try some of this". He approached the lab rats and poured the pink liquid on Kisu and the lilac one Molita. "Now rub in and see if makes your fur any softer" Science Dog instructed. The lab rats did. "I can't smell anything" Kisu remarked. "Feels gentle on the fur" added Molita "But it sure makes you look pink". Then both teams gawked at the two labs, seeing that the colour from the beaker products was entirely changing Kisu into a pink-furred rat and Molita into a lilac-furred one.

"Good Galileo of Pisa!" Science Dog exclaimed "That was not supposed to happen". "Why am I pink and why is she lilac?" Kisu asked. "Find something that'll wash it off" Maddie said. "I got it!" Brian squeaked and he took out an orange liquid. "Hold it!" Zee-zee warned "You don't know what it does". Lea examined the liquid carefully and said "It looks safe". They applied the liquid on Kisu's fur, but it didn't erase the pinkness from her fur. All it did was fluff it up. "Fur oil" Lea said.

The cubs got to work trying every Bath product that had been mixed. All they got was fur oil, fur gel, fur conditioner, skin soother, deodarant, paw wash, paw cream and whisker shine. Those products were good and acceptable for bath time, but none of them erased the effects of the fur colorisers. "Well this isn't fur dye we are trying to wash off" said Marshall. "Well this fur coloriser must be absolute due to blending well with strands of fur" Science Dog explained "So well, that it spreads from hair to hair". "What will our boss Star say about that?" Maddie asked. "I think she'll find our two lab rats cute and irresistable" Lea joked.

"I don't know about Star" said Brian "But it must lunch time and I'm hungry". "Is there anything to eat in the tank?" Marshall asked. "I wouldn't consume any of those drinks and foodstuffs until extensive taste tests have been made" Science Dog said. "Do we have to taste them?" Molita asked nervously. "Must we?" Kisu asked immediately after. "It's only for Science" Lea reassured them "And you get to be served first". "Well...okay" the rats agreed.

For their first taste test, the lab rats were a tray of many coloured vials. "That would be our liquid ice-cream" said Lea "I invented it myself. Gets cool in your mouth and feels refreshing". Kisu and Molita each took a vial and poured the liquids in their mouths. "Yum! Strawberry" Kisu yapped. "Delicious banana!" Molita cried happily. The two rats got very excited and drank from one vial after another tasting "Watermelon!" "Blueberry!" "Apricot!". "Hold your paws and tongues!" Science Dog shouted "You're drinking too much...".

The suddenly Molita and Kisu's pupils looked very small and the two rats looked petrified. "Looks like they took an overdose" Zee-zee said worried. But a second later, the two rats were moving again. "Gidda Googada!" Molita babbled. "Moomoo mamamoo" Kisu gargled and the two lab rats waved their paws at each other. "Oh! No!" Brian exclaimed "They're little babies!". "This effect must have been caused by an acute brain freeze that suspended mature brain activity and turned them young again" Science Dog deduced.

"Don't you have any warm food to defrost them?" Maddie asked. "This should work" said Lea as she grabbed a jar of yellow creamy stuff "It's Gauacamousey Cheese. A mixture of lemon pulp, mozzarella, margerine and bean paste". Lea went to feed the stuff to the baby rats, while the others sorted out the containers of food and drink. "Open widey wide" Lea cooed at Kisu and Molita as she carefully poured the stuff into their mouths. "Well they certained liked it" Lea said impressed "But we'll need a better opinion from a cub that isn't a baby".

Without their lab rats to properly test the products, the scientists had take it among themselves to taste the new stuff. "Look at this!" Brian announced "I found a jar of some funny browny stuff". "That's my soya nut juice formula" said Science Dog. "Oh! Lemme taste it!" Zee-zee cried in excitement. "Just a little" Science Dog cautioned "It's prototype". The leader of the Z-Team tasted the stuff. "Tastes nice" Zee-zee said, then he felt a small pressure on his tummy and he made a small burp.

"Well at least we know there's nothing wrong with this stuff" said Marshall. "How much more of this do we have to test?" Maddie asked. "At least a dozen" Lea answered. "How about this" said Maddie getting a flask of green liquid. "That's vegetable and bean soup in a can" said Science Dog "I think I'll some myself". So Science Dog sampled the green soup, Maddie tried a Milk Soda Fruit Shake, Brian tried a jellyfied beef burger, Marcus tried a Saucy Delight for all sorts of fast food and Zee-zee tried a chocolate seed cake.

"Foogoo daga gool!" came the babbling of the rats as they crawled towards the foodstuffs. As Molita grabbed a jar of burgundy jam and Kisu grabbed a jar of orange paste, the scientists noticed that there was something very wrong. "What has happened?" Maddie asked in shock. "Great Isaac of New Town!" Science Dog gasped "What could have caused this?". The two lab rats were now chubby and fat with pudgy paws, bloated cheeks and enlarged tails. "Not my gaucacheesy formula!" Lea yelped "It must have been!".

Suddenly there was rumbling and grumbling sounds in the air. "What's that?" Marshall asked. Without warning there, was great sound of flatulence and then Lea, Science Dog, Marshall and Maddie found themselves staggering and cluthing their tummies and start to wet and messed themselves. The poppers of Maddie's dungarees popped straight off while Marshall's shorts elastic snapped and the garment slipped off. Zee-zee started hiccuping uncontrollaby and Brian felt woozy and dizzy. "What's in *hoc* that stuff?" Zee-zee hiccupped. "You must know! Gnnnnggh!" cried Lea as she filled her pullup "You were the guys who operated the vats and the tank". "Uuuh! I believe..." grunted Science Dog as his pullup bulged "There was great inbalance to the lipid, protein and oil content of the foodstuffs and drinks! Ooohh! Not to mention the accidental discovery of the fur colorisers!".

Finally the wet and soiled cubs stopped using their diapers and pullups and went for a change. "Better we wear diapers" Science Dog cautioned "We don't want anymore accidents". "Glad I *gock* didn't get laxed" said Zee-zee. "Wooo! Meeeee toooo!" Brian added. One by one the cubs who needed changing, undressed and got on the Automatic Diaper Changer and were changed into thick Labbies diapers. "By Einstein!" Science Dog gasped "Those diapers truly are thick!". "You said it" Lea agreed.

"So how are Molita and Kisu?" Maddie asked as the new diaper was fastened on her. The two lab rats, just like the other cubs had also filled their diapers and were in dire need of a change. "Well that leaves us to test the changing supplies" said Marshall. "I do hope nothing else goes wrong" Maddie said. "Star's gonna unleash a fury of anger waves!" Lea exclaimed with worry.

While Kisu follwed by Molita got their diapers changed, the scientists tried a number of products for diaper changing. When they tried out a blue sand like powder on Molita's tail, they made a great discovery. "Looky! Molita's fur colour's changing back!" Maddie squeaked. "Of course by Louis and Pasteur! Why didn't I think of that before?" cried Science Dog "Sodium Chloride counteracts against the Fur Coloriser". They all gave the two lab rats a thorough scrub and returned them back to their normal colours.

Soon both the C-Team and Z-Team had fully tested every new chemical mixture they had made, quite by accident on Z-Team's part. "It would appear, your miscalculations have created interesting results" said Lea. "Aaaaand chaaaayotic" Brian added with a slur. "But *huwc* can we undo them?" asked Zee-zee. "We want our Molita back" Maddie moaned. "Hmmm..." thought Science Dog "Let's see. Those are going to be tricky to tackle. Gaah!". Suddenly there was another wet and mess attack amongst the diapered scientists and lab rats.

"We'd better cure those problems soon" Lea said "Or Star will replace the C and Z Teams". "Can't think on an empty stomach" said Marshall "Can we get some proper food?". "I'll be *beck* with some snacks" Zee-zee hicupped. The little squirrel ran off to fetch canteen food and came back with a variety. "Here you *gobb*" Zee-zee said and handed them around. Science Dog looked hard at the food, scratched his head and said "I think you have just brought us the cure for the rats, allow me to show you".

Science Dog took a packet of spear peppermints and inserted two of them into vanilla cupcakes. "Does little Molly want her cuppycake?" Science Dog cooed as he waved it at Molita. The Z-Team lab rat babbled, took the cupcake and ate in a few bites and gulps. Science Dog did the same for Kisu. "Wait for it" the leading C-Team scientist said "Wait for iiiit". Then suddenly both rats made long loud belches and their chubby figure appeared to deflate back to their original scale.

When Science Dog was satisfied with the reverse effects, he fed the rats a few smoky chilli crisps. That did the trick and Molita uttered "What's the party?" and Kisu asked "Why is my diaper so dirty?". Science Dog proceeded to cure Zee-zee's hiccups with Lime-Cola and Brian's wooziness with 100% orange juice. "What about our accidents?" Maddie asked "How do we cure them?". "We can't" replied Science Dog "We have to wait for it to wear off, but in the meantime we can dilute it with plenty of drinks".

After a round of drinks and some tasty foods, the C-Team compiled the results of their experiments, while the Z-Team loaded the chemical samples on a trolley. It was now time to take their work to their boss Star Bryce and see if her demands had been met. "I don't we'll get a noble prize this time" said Maddie. "What's the next best thing for noble prize?" Marshall asked. "A nomination" answered Zee-zee. "Followed by a sub-nomination" added Brian. Before leaving the chemistry lab, Zee-zee and Brian made sure to use the Mechanised Potty and keep dry.

"They're pretty effective and new diapers, those Labbies" Star said as the C-Team and Z-Team stood before her with their inventions and recordings "But I didn't think my own top Scientists would be wearing them! Why aren't you in your pullups Lea and Science Dog??". "Well in order to meet up with your deadline" Science Dog explained "We had to try every mixed chemical, which our Z-Team colleagues kind of squished up, due a number of miscalculations". And he told Star about what happened to their lab rats and the rest of the team. Star remained silent and listened attentively. By the time Science Dog had finished explained, the diapered cubs had another wave of accidents.

"So it took several accidents to have several accidents" Star spoke up "Well obviously Z-Team is not trained for the Chemistry Lab. I'm sending them back to the Electronics Lab first thing tomorrow". "Very good Star, thank you Star" Zee-zee said. "And as for you" Star went on turning to Science Dog "You have a lot of work to do, regarding those faulty chemicals". "Don't worry boss" said Lea "We will dispose of them immediately". "Hold it!" Star snapped "You're going to shelve the good products and you're going to mix more of those bad products and intesify their effects".

"Seriously??" Kisu squeaked. "What would you want with those defective chemicals?" Science Dog asked. "I want you to combine them together into a Babymaker Formula" Star answered "This is just the invention I've been seeking. I just didn't know it. That rivalling company Santadyne has been a thorn in my side for too many months". "Oh! I see what you getting" said Zee-zee. "Pretty unorthodox and unethical, but potentially fun" said Science Dog. "And you'll get a Nobel Prize if you succeed" Star told him "That ought to show that Monkey-Gorilla, Ida Kingly whose a baby now!".

After more diaper changes and a restful night, the members of the C-Team and Z-Team were finally rid of the laxative effect. Science Dog and Lea continued to wear Labbies diapers in case of future accidents from newer chemicals, even Marshall and Kisu still wore them, while Maddie and Molita switched back to their regular standard lab diapers, which were better fitting and more comfy to them.

It took a few days for the C-Team to create the Super Solvent as they called it, but Star got what she needed and true to her word gave Science Dog and his team their well deserved nobel prize. After that she gave them two days of vacation on the terrace top. "Aaah! This is relaxing" Lea sighed as she lay on the lilo.

"It's time for one test, I've never tried" said Science Dog "What happens when you wear a Labbies diaper in water?". Science Dog had not changed into his swim diaper and stepped right in the pool. Seconds he stumbled as his thick diaper swelled up to three times its thickness and size and Science Dog was lying and floating helplessly in the pool "By Stephen Hawking! It works too well!" he yelped as he tried to paddle to the edge of the pool.
