Ynk’s past Ynk come from a neglectful family. He was ignored by his parents over his two younger siblings: a sister and a brother. When they were born, he understood that his parents had to focus more on them; but as the three of them grew older, their parents still kept having more attention for them than for him. He did his share to help his parents, to earn their respect, their appreciation. But nothing worked. That didn’t make him hate his siblings; they didn’t have any guilt in this. One day, as he jogged in a close by forest, he noticed that his tail left small treads behind it, as it swished in the air. At first, he was frightened and surprised, but once he calmed down, he got more curious and immediately tried to recreate the phenomenon, with little success. So, over the following days and weeks, he trained in secret, not telling a word about this to his parents. He looked on his computer for meditation advices, inner energy control and other magical stuff and kept trying and trying, getting better every day. It took him a couple of weeks but he became able to freely control his tail’s brushing, making large and strange drawing into the air. On the first day of the 3rd week, he discovered that those streaks could do incredible –sometimes dangerous- things: making a fast swing if his tail could create a large trace that could cut rocks in half, he could trust it forward to launch small black balls, and some of those made dents into hard wood. It was when he played a video game in which magical symbols were involved to do magic that he thought: “Can I do that to? With my tail?” So he trained more, trying to harvest the power of his tail to create something more than just a ‘dark slash’ or ‘black bullets’, as he called the first moves he discovered. Thanks to his great passion for reading, it took only a few days to understand: magic was mostly intent. He was sure that if he focused enough on WHAT he wanted to do, and not HOW, he could do something. And it worked. After going in a secluded part of the woods, where he always went to train, he focused on a warm flame, something to heat up the cold days of January and he let his body move on instinct. His tail traced a strange pattern: a spiral that ended pointing up. And suddenly, the symbol took fire and burned with a gentle heat, warming up the young hybrid. His face was a cut in half by a bright smile. Over the next week, he trained all he could, having noticed that the more he drew, the more tired he became. But also, the more he trained, the more endurance he had and the more he could draw. One month later, he received a later, from the P.A.F.I.G., a school, known for its strangely gifted students. Very few could go there. And Ynk immediately accepted, barely telling it to his parents over a busy dinner. He didn’t want them to ruin his chance to know more about the incredible world he had before him. Three days later, Ynk was leaving his parent’s home. He gave them a small hug, like if he was going to his normal school, when he knew he wouldn’t see them for at least 3 years, not like they really cared.
