The wind rustled the trees and grass gently on a fine summer day in a small but well tended park. The lush grass and clean air begged for a picnic to be had upon it, and today was finally that day. Frost was humming a song and wagging his tail to the beat as he had finally found the perfect spot. Carrying the supplies had been heavy and his canine instincts were telling him to pant, but the wolf just swiped the sweat off his face, and drank some of his bottled water to state his desires. He texted his friend about the spot and how to find him, quickly getting a response from the bear saying he would bounce right over. A response was sent telling him to just walk, the exercise would be good for him. Before the bear could give another snappy come-back Frost set down his phone and started setting up the special rendezvous. A large blanket covered in paw prints was set upon the grass. While a wolf's paws is used to the bare earth under his feet, he figured it best for serving the food. He had two coolers full of the stuff, but first wanted to set an umbrella to provide some shade. He tried pressing it into the ground, but it was not deep enough and simply toppled over the moment he let go. The wolf tried again two more times, but the earth was very solid today. Without tools or getting his paws dirty, he was not able to get it down deep enough. Luckily, Frost had a trick up his sleeve. He looked around to his left, right, and behind them, nodding as he saw no one around. While there were others in the park, all were much too far away to notice a change in the wolf's physiology. Frost interlocked his fingers, and cracked his knuckles, activating his special gift. Suddenly his fingers thickened up and the fur on the blackened, these changes going up his arms in a wave all the way to his shoulders. In just a few seconds he was sporting now a massive pair of Gorilla arms on his still canine body, now having more than the strength than he needed. With those arms came new instincts, wanting to slam the umbrella as hard into the ground as possible, but experience told him to be more delicate, else it would end up breaking, again. The strength of the gorilla helped him pull the support rod down into the earth, it staying erect and sun blocking in the perfect position, even with the wind. Frost let out a sigh of relief, and with that exhale the size left his fingers, hands, and arms, almost like a deflating balloon. He thought all was well, until he heard a loud booming voice behind him. "Careful young hero, civilians are around and might notice your little magic trick." Said the loud voice behind frost. The startled canine almost jumped out of his skin, until he recognized the voice. Looking back he saw his bear friend smiling down at him, adding to his comment with a bit of a smirk, "Although, lunch with a big Gorilla might have been fun. Though I would still be bigger!" He ended with a boast, as he often did. The bear in front of Frost, the Wolf himself, were a pair of Superheros in this crazy town of animals, heros, villians, and people just trying to survive. The shape shifting wolf had only moved to this town recently, at the big bear's suggestion. The bear has been a resisdent, and a self boasting hero for many years, but he also loved showing new guys the ropes as a means to show off himself even more so. However, the large ursine also took a shine to Frost's skills, as Frost claimed to be able to become any size or shape he wanted, and the bear had yet to see how big that really was. Still, he was sure he could be bigger, his powers always made sure of that. Frost brushed his head fur to get it to stop standing up straight from his shock, and also to double check his fur did not match how sheepish he was feeling. After one more breath he finally gave his response, "Well I looked when I changed at first, I just forgot when I was...changing back. I doubt anyone but a hero like you could have snuck up on me so fast anyways." He smiled, hoping appealing to the bears large ego would work. It did. "Well, if your snacks are as good as you promised, I can overlook your little accident, this time." The threat was mostly hot air, similar to one of the ways the bear could fill his belly. However, his most favorite method was what they had planned today. He was already leaning over to grab at one of the food containers, when the large bear butt recieved a smack from a huffy wolf. "Bear, I know you have more experience in most things, but its my meal, which means I get to finish setting up, then you get to enjoy." Frost growled just a little, knowing being too eager was often the bear's downfall. Frost was more meticulous, enjoying the small details of things, finding the joy in doing things the right way. While keeping an eye out for sneaky bear paws, Frost laid out the toil of his work from the previous day and morning. There were multi level sandwiches, chips of different flavors, a cheesy pasta salad, chilled sweet potatos, trail mix and even some fried fish. But of course the most important was the desserts, so many desserts as the bear had requested. Mini Cheesecakes, a whole pack of cupcakes, a pack of oreos, and even some hostess goodies if they still had more room. It was a meal for a full party, the two alone were about to enjoy. While shape shifting did cause him to burn more calories than most, most of the meal was for the bear, and his endless appetite. Frost chuckled as the drool really started to flow, "Making you wait any longer might be considered unusual punishment, so dig in." The wolf had already put aside some food for himself, which was good because the bear started devouring all of the plates, some in a single bite. Frost slowly ate his sandwich bite by bite, just watching as the bear continued to eat, continued to expand, and continued to grow. He knew the hero's strongest source of power was food, but it was the first time he had seen the bear refueling so intensly before. The fellow hero just took his companion's intense speed as a compliment to his cooking, and let him work without interruption. The bear could use that food to expand his size, not just his belly as it was doing now. With that size he could bounce on his enemies, squishing and stopping them from commiting any further crimes. While it was a little more direct than some powers, his track record showed it could get the job done. He had not been able to eat this much in a while, his civilian form was banned from most local buffets. His meals were either a strain on his wallet, or a gift from friends like the Wolf. He slowed down a bit as he got closer to dessert trays, letting out a satisfed belch. The bear caught his breath and looked over to Frost with a smile, "I knew you were one of the good ones, A hero does more than just stoping the bad guy, but supports his fellow man, his bigger man." The bear made a display his belly, patting it firmly to show it bounce, "The town will be safe from danger for at least a week after I finish off your last little treats." The wolf smiled back, "I was just happy for the chance to try cooking in large batches for once. Though it is funny to know its all going to one big belly." The wolf did think his companion was cute with his large size. He enjoyed watching it move and bounce, yet also know he was not slowed down by the heft in any way. His friend looked to the desserts, "Well I have just started growing, but now its time for the best part." He reached for a cupcake, undoing the wrapper. But just as he moved it to his lips, the pair suddenly heard a familar sound and froze. "MUHAHAHAHAHAHAH" A voice rang out in the deeper trees of the park behind them. There could only be one source, a villain. The pair nodded to each other silently, and quickly donned their superhero outfits. Frost put on a blue mask, and took a stick off the ground, shape shifting it into a longer staff with a claw at the end, becoming the hero, 'Perspective'. The bear put on his yellow shades, removing his outer layer of clothes to show the skin tight outfit underneath, one that could grow as big as he did, becoming the hero 'Bouncing Bear' Perspective was ready for battle, but Bouncing Bear grabbed a few more cupcakes, shoving them into his pockets, whispering, "In case we need them in a battle." The wolf sighed and nodded, he was not wrong it could be useful for Bouncing Bear's power, but still looked ridiculous. The suited up heros went into the trees ready to investigate the source of laughter that started up again. While Perspective tried to be sneaky, the rumbling of each step of Bouncing Bear meant subtlety was not on their side. Soon the pair found what they had been looking for, the Very Villainous VonZapper! Their opposite was an orange fox, outfitted in a torn blue labcoat with even more blue flames along it. He had a very modified NES zapper, a pair of trusty goggles, and some sort of electric backpack that sparked every couple seconds. Perspective had heard about this villian, whereas Bouncing Bear had fought with him many times before. Between one of Vonzapper's bouts of deep laughter, Bouncing Bear announced loudly, "Fiend! What hardship has your twisted mind brought to this park today?" Knowing the intent of a villian was part of the justice in this town, heros cannot capture villains whenever they like, everyone needs groceries so having a fight there would be too disruptive, it can only be in the act of villiany. VonZapper spun around, seeing the two figures stalking him, "Ugh, Heroes? Can't you just let me enjoy my weekend off? I am just practicing my laughter the next time one of you Goody Goodies barge your way into my lair." He pretended to be disinterested, though one of his hands was subtly pressing buttons on his zapper. Frost noticed what he was doing, but lack of experience did not make him aware how dangerous a fox's fingers could be. In the meantime, Bouncing Bear still led the conversation, "Well it may not be the fields of battle, but I am keeping my eyes on you..." "More like the dessert tray, there is still some frosting on your face" The Fox interjected. "..but you put one paw out of line, and the bounce will come down upon you." Bouncing bear punched his fist into his palm, and then pat his belly loudly so it echoed and even rustled the leaves a bit. VonZapper just rolled his eyes, "Well thank you for the gift of that lovely threat Mr Hero. But now why don't I give you two a gift. This should slow you two down a few days." In one swift motion the zapper went from the Fox's belt to his paw, and the trigger was pulled before either Hero could stop them. A sort of blinding rainbow wave came out from the zapper, hitting the two heros and momentarily blinding them. "MUHAHAHHAHAHAhahahahaaaaaaa" The laugh slowly became more quiet as the fox was taking his leave, as fast as his paws could take him at least. The heros were able to shake off the daze and rub the bubbles out of there eyes, seeing the figure of the villain dissapear in the distance. Perspective decided to take the lead as Bouncing Bear was still rubbing his eyes, "I will turn into a hawk and chase him down, just listen for my screech." The hero focused, finding that special place that housed his power and activated it, his body getting warm, but then shifted in a way he had not expected. A mighty burp emerged from his mouth, and suddenly his stomach ballooned outward as his height grew, all of his limbs, his face, and his legs getting swolen with thick fat. His staff felt more like a toothpick in his hands, and it was hard to even more his arms around much with how much space his stomach took up. Instead of shape shifting, he had suddenly become the fattest wolf in the zip code. Frost let out another belch before he could catch his breath, even just breathing feeling different at this size, "His zap must have…fattened me. Quick, Bounce after him, Bouncing Bear!" The stars had finally left the bears eyes, though the fox was just a tiny orange spec in the distance now, "Alright, gonna need to be huge to catch up, time to use that lunch~" The other hero focused, finding that special place that housed his own power, ready for the limitless growth in provided. But instead…he suddenly felt a strong shrinking sensation, his ears growing and tugging upwards, his tail becoming cute and cotton. Where a big bear stood, there was now an extremely tiny bunny rabbit, though still having a big fat belly. His glasses were way too big for his face, and his stretchy clothes pooled around him, more used to size changes in the other direction. A high pitched voice yelled out, "Why am I so small!" He tried to bounce and hop his way out of the pooled clothes, but just landed in the pocket that was holding all the cupcakes from earlier. The treasure trover of sweets was piled up around him, causing the newly minted bunny to get getting momentarily distracted, "Well, maybe this isn't all bad." The bunny suddenly felt himself getting scooped up by the titanous wolf looming over him, holding him easilly with thick fingers. His deepened voice shared the thought they both had, "I think VonZapper…swapped our powers" …TO BE CONTINUED
