1-0 Connor Prologue I woke up and opened my eyes. Beyond me stretched an endless white expanse with no discernible ground or sky except for a vague shadow beneath my feet. I turned around. Behind me there was a mirror in which I could see myself. A young man with messy hair and unkempt stubble, lean, just a little below average height. I was naked. “Oh boy,” I said to myself. “Time to get started.” I already had in mind what I wished to do. I looked at myself in the mirror and got to work. First, thick grey fur sprouted all over my body, covering me in a fluffy mess that was slightly lighter along my belly, neck, and chin. Pads formed on my hands and feet, a fluffy tail grew from my rear, and my face extended into a muzzle, with my ears shifting upwards and becoming large and pointed. Before long, an anthropomorphic wolf was staring back at me from the mirror. Still naked. “Well that’s no good.” I started imagining clothes on myself. A pair of briefs, some cargo jeans, socks and sneakers, and a plain purple t-shirt. “Hmm...” It became a green t-shirt. “Better.” I stuck my hands in my pockets. The feeling of my thick, heavy fur underneath the clothes was strange, but felt oddly familiar. Like I already knew how it would feel. And so I stood there awkwardly. Staring at myself in the mirror, doing nothing. Then I remembered I wasn’t done. I mentally saved the form before once again going to work. The clothes disappeared, and I transformed again. This time, I didn’t keep my height and proportions. Instead, I began shrinking smaller and smaller, my features shifting until I was a tiny mouse. My fur was still the same monochrome colors, but now my tail was hairless and my ears round. I’d taken on most of the proportions of a mouse too. I still had hands with opposable thumbs, but my body was far more round, my head was bigger, and my feet longer. I decided to forgo full clothing for this form, instead simply making sure my privates were hidden before adding a striped green and white scarf. “Two is good enough for now,” I told myself. “I can always add more later.” Then I transformed back to my wolf form, clothes included. I took one last look at myself in the mirror then… hesitated. Was I sure I was ready for this? Sure I was fine with all of this now, but there were going to be real people out there. No. I had to do this, I had already told Catherine I was doing this. Once I had regained my confidence, I summoned the continue button and pressed it. Then my vision faded to black.
