Starlight was enjoying a break with Trixie under the sun of her old village. She had decided to come here with her best friend to say hello and keep touch with some other like Sugar Belle or Double Diamond. All of them were happy to spend times with her, like the all story with the Cutie Marks was only a mere thing of the past now. Everypony was enjoying some treats from Sugar Belle before Trixie asked Starlight.

"Say Starlight, you never show to Trixie the unfamous cave where you'd lock the Cutie Marks of this village away. Do you mind if we go take a look?"

"Not at all, even if this place has a bad... mood surrounding it now, it is always welcome to go back in it to remember the errors of my way and not doing them again."

"A wise talk my dear Starlight, Trixie approves."



Starlight then leads her to the cave, not far from the village, however she didn't noticed the smirk in "Trixie's" face. Once inside the cave, Starlight stopped in front of a wall.

"There it is, this were I contained all the Cutie Mark back in the old days... such a fool mare I was..."

"And you still are..." Suddenly said Trixie before a green flash engulfed the cave, revealing a changeling instead of Trixie, but something was off, this changeling had a black chitin like the ones serving under Chrysalis but the true thing that caught Starlight attention about this Changeling was the pony features of it, a mane and tail just like a normal pony but green with holes in it, its eyes were reptilian, like the ones of Chrysalis and two larges insectoid wings were on the back of the creature. If it was indeed a Changeling, something was different about it.

"What?! Who are you?! Where's Trixie?" Asked Starlight with an angry look and her horn ready.

"My real name is Nightlight Aura, but it's "Princess Nightlight" for you, Starlight Glimmer. As for Trixie, don't worry, she's still sleeping in her bed, thanks to me. I didn't want her to compromise my cover." Answered the Changeling, her voice letting know she was a female.

"You're a Changeling right? But I never seen one with features so close to a pony before..."

Nightlight only laughed.

"Ha ha ha! It's because I WAS a pony before, a pegasus to be precise, but a little "encounter" with my Queen and I ended as something far more greater."

"You mean a creature who needs to feed on love to survive? You do realize the Changelings didn't do this anymore? Thorax has seen to it."

"Don't mention that traitor name in front of me!" Answered Nightlight with anger, a detail than came back to Starlight about something this Changeling just said.

"Wait... you had mentioned a queen before... don't tell me it's..."

"Ding ding ding! You're not so stupid as my Queen told me Starlight Glimmer. Indeed, it's Chrysalis, she's my Queen. And she wants to see you."

"Never!"

"I didn't said you had a choice..." Simply said Nightlight when a shadow stroke from behind the unaware unicorn.



Starlight woke up in a large room, looking like a hive structure, she tries to summon an illumination spell but the magic get disrupted, by touching her horn, she can feel a slimy substance on her horn, probably what's disrupting her magic.

"Great... now I had to find the exit myself, before this changeling or Chrysalis finds me..." Thought Starlight. "But she strongly looked like a pony... and she even admitted it... does that mean Chrysalis found a way to... change ponies into changelings? That's insane!"

"But it's the truth..." Another voice coming from nowhere answered, Starlight tried to run but two projectiles quickly formed the same goo as around her horn on both of her front hooves, making her escape impossible. The owner of the voice than exit from the shadow, it was Chrysalis, with a devious look on her face.  "Well, well, well, look who Nightlight brought me..."

"Chrysalis!" Said Starlight, anger on her face. "Release me or else..."

"Or what? You can't use magic and you're trap. All mine."

Despite Starlight's refusing to admit it, the changeling Queen was right, she was trapped and at her mercy for whatever she has plan to do.

"I should have known you will tried to had revenge on me when I'm away of Ponyville... but I never expected you to change a pony into your minion."

As if timing was perfect, Nightlight lands on her queen side, the same look of her in her own face.

"You mean Nightlight? Yes, I found a very dark and ancient rune filled with changeling's magic, it contained the power to convert any Earth Pony, Pegasus or Unicorn into a changeling that will serve the Queen that cast it without any question. Nightlight was once a pegasus, but now, she's my equal, my successor, the princess of my new hive!"

"Your new hive?" Repeats Starlight.

"Yes, with her help and my new ability, I will make a new hive, but this time it will be full of loyal subjects, loyal to the end, even if somepony like you does a pitiful speech about "friendship" or defeats me. The new subjects I'm talking about will be former ponies from all around Equestria, after all, if you can't defeat them, transform them into allies... something Twilight had done with you I suppose..."

"You're wrong, Twilight only shows me there was another way to restart some friendships, something I tried to propose you too!"

"Enough of your lies Starlight Glimmer! Soon I will have my revenge on you, by making you join my hive and make you follow my vision, my truth, my orders..."

"Pff, yeah. Like it will happen..."

"Did you already forgot what I said about my new ability to convert ponies into changelings already?" Said Chrysalis by making her horn glow.



Starlight wasn't sure what to expect but she almost immediately starts to feel some tickles on her torso and her horn, however she couldn't saw what was happening, only close her eyes until the tickles became less annoying. When she opened her eyes again, she can feel some fresh air on some of her torso and her front hooves while her horn started to feel weird.

"W-what's happening to me?" Asked Starlight.

"I think we can allow you to see it, my Queen, can I?" Asked Nightlight to Chrysalis who simply nods in response.

The princess then used her magic to remove the goo from one of Starlight's front hooves, allowing her to move it and see it more closely, she also remove the goo on her horn since her magic was now totally nullified thanks to the change already affecting it.

Starlight quickly watch her hoof to see what was causing the tickling sensation and she almost gasp, her entire front hoof has been changed into a changeling hoof, with a black chitin and holes in it, it was no hard for her to guess that her torso and horn are under the same predicament since the tickling came from there too

"What are you doing to me?!" Asked Starlight almost in fear, a bit of her mane starting to become green like the one of Chrysalis and Nightlight, only to meet the devious smile of the two changelings in front of her.

"Reshaping you for a purpose far more better and useful to me." Answered Chrysalis while the transformation continued.

No matter how she struggled, Starlight couldn't liberate herself or stop the changes from spreading. Pretty soon, almost her entire body was replace by the dark chitin of a changeling, her mane was now fully green and holes were in it while her horn twisted and deformed itself, taking a shape more in match with a changeling horn, felling her magic being corrupted, becoming changeling magic in the process.

"Fair warning, the painful part is coming..." Said Chrysalis with a smirk.

Starlight was about to ask what she means but was cut off by a pain coming from her eyes and mouth. The only thing she can do was yelled of pain, only for the pleasure of Chrysalis who knew far too well what it means.

The pain finally came to a stop and Starlight opened her eyes again, however something didn't felt right, she couldn't see it, but her eyes were now reptilian, just like the one of Chrysalis or Nightlight, she also felt something new in her mouth, with her tongue, she felt two sharp fangs, firmly anchored.

"You will not get away with this..." Said Starlight, still a little herself.

"I already have... while the rest of your body is being converted, how about we show you how it's like to be part of a hivemind?" Answered Chrysalis before making her horn glow a little brighter, Nightlight doing the same and the one of Starlight illuminating itself of its own.

"What are you... I feel weird... stop messing with my head! Stop... messing with..." Yelled Starlight while feeling dizzy before she stop talking, her head being filled with messages of Chrysalis and reshaping her mind with obedience and loyalty to her Queen... the one she was about to serve, along with her princess, Nightlight. 

The changes proceeds with the last parts remaining of her body, her hind hooves switch to a black with holes in it and her tail to a green also with some holes, her Cutie Mark vanished, like it was never there. On her back, a thin purple shell, matching the former color of her mane took place and two insectoid wings grew from her back, sealing her fate as a new changeling for the hive of Chrysalis.

Knowing the changes were complete, Chrysalis release the remaining hoof of Starlight from the goo before saying.

"You look perfect my dear Starlight."

The new Changeling only smiled before answering.

"Thank you, my Queen."

"Now go back to Ponyville, I want you to spy on your "friends" and report their weaknesses." ordered Chrysalis.

"It will be done your highness." only said Starlight with a bow.

Nightlight took a step forward.

"Also, don't forget that we need more subjects too, try to bring us some if you can, we still need to take revenge on Thorax next."

"Yes Princess Nightlight, that traitor must be captured and dealt with. I'll do my best to not let you down. Is that all?"

"That's all, now go, before somepony notices your absence." conclude Nightlight.

With a last bow to her princess, Starlight took flight outside of the hive and teleport herself back to the village, near Trixie's wagon. She quickly used her new changeling abilities to take her former unicorn self and entered in the wagon where Trixie was only starting to wake up.

"Hmm, Starlight? Sorry but I must have overslept... hope I didn't miss anything or that you're angry against me..."

"Not at all for both. Don't worry, we can go back to Ponyville now. I still have an assignment for Twilight to do and she will be quite mad if I'm being late." Answered Starlight with a rassuring smile

"Okay, if you say so, let me just eat something real quick than we can go." Said Trixie.

But once the wagon takes the road of Ponyville, Trixie never caught the little smirk on Starlight's face...
