Ollie wandered around the aisles of her local music store. The snowy owl was a regular there, often buying various albums new and old there. Sure, streaming was nice but nothing was better than hearing a physical copy! Plus, the owner was very nice, so supporting a small business made all the more reasons for her to show up and buy physical copies of albums!  The snowy owl walked up to the counter, greeting the doe woman behind it. "Hey Lisa. Anything come in lately?"  "Sup Ollie!" the doe gave a quick head nod to the snowy owl walking up to the counter. "A lot of stuff actually."  "This a big time for new shipments?" Ollie asked curiously. "Most of the time I ask that it's usually only or or two new things."  "As a matter of fact, yeah!" Lisa gave a soft giggle. "Lot of bands have been releasing stuff in the Spring. Good time for concerts, especially in this town. Lot of local bands really make a push, Spring Break and all that for the college kids."  "Makes sense." Ollie nodded. "Have you listened to any of them yet? Any standouts?"  "Haven't had a chance to no." the doe shook her head. "Been too busy inventorying them! You're more than welcome to try any out. Maybe you'll like one of them!"  "What genres are they? Any that stood out from the cover?"  "Genres just about everything you can think of, really. Punk, rock, country, rap, little bit of everything. As for covers, there was one with this cute dog girl on it. Wore an open flannel, kinda thick eyebrows. She was just leaning against a brick wall on a rainy day playing an acoustic guitar."  "Really? Hm." Ollie nodded slowly, trying to put that picture into her head. "I could see myself potentially liking that! Maybe I'll try it out if I can find it."  "Everything is in the new release section." Lisa pointed towards one of the racks. "The sampling booth is in the back, you've been there before."  "Thanks, going to go check it out!" Ollie smiled and left the doe to do her work, Ollie heading back to the new releases to check them out.  She looked through the shelves and racks, trying to find anything that might catch her interest. Some of them seemed potentially good, but none of them that really screamed out to her. That was until she laid eyes on a case with an image that was familiar to her. The white-furred dog, big eyebrows, flannel shirt, it was the one that Lisa mentioned!  "Slider's greatest hits...?" Ollie said to herself, grabbing it and looking to the back. Whoever this "Slider" was, it looked like they had experimented with a ton of different genres, with multiple songs listed out in lists after a header of what genre the song was. This piqued Ollie's curiosity even further, and she decided to take it to the sampling room to see what this canine was all about.  Ollie opened up the case, placing the disc inside the player. The music started to play, starting with an acoustic tune. There were a few things inside of the booth, just to keep one's hands entertained as they listened. Among them was a fake acoustic guitar missing strings, but Ollie grabbed it as she pretended to strum along with the song. She couldn't play guitar, but it was still fun! The music was great too! She had become completely lost in it and her fake strumming, failing to realize that the album was doing much more than give Ollie's ears pleasure, it was changing her!  Ollie's beak began to soften, becoming wider while growing longer in length. The gray coloration of it altered, with most of it becoming a slightly darker shade of fur than her current feathers. What were once nostrils grew into a fully proper nose that was large and triangular, possessing a black coloration that had moisture on it as Ollie's beak had turned into a muzzle. The reds of Ollie's eyes transitioned into white, with her eye color remaining black. What was much more noticeable was the thick growth of eyebrows that were practically as large as her eyes themselves. These were black, just like her eyelashes still were.  The tuft of feathers at the top of Ollie's head diminished, vanishing entirely with the same happening to the ones at the sides of her head. All the while, the feathers around Ollie's head became softer to the touch and more plentiful, transitioning into fur that matched the color of her new muzzle. She would gain something new at the top of her head, with a set of ears emerging out. They were large and triangular, quickly drooping down over the sides, although they were rather emotive and would move based on the emotions she was feeling now.  The feathers on Ollie's body continued their shift, with the black markings on the arms, sides, and legs vanishing into the white fur that was replacing the feathers. The ruffle of tailfeathers would all merge into one, the length of the tail becoming significantly shorter while changing from a rectangular shape to a more cylindrical one. The base of Ollie's new tail was large and round, getting progressively thinner before ending in a dulled tip. It was covered in white fur like the rest of Ollie's body, the length only a few inches long. Like her ears, Ollie's new tail was just as emotive, wagging when she would get excited and drooping if she was lost in thought or sad.  At Ollie's feet, her avian talons altered drastically. The digit at the back circled around to join the ones at the front, each becoming less jagged and more rounded as the talons on them vanished entirely. Each digit was large and circular with Ollie's feet completely flat. On the underside, rough and tough gray skin formed - the only place where fur wasn't present. This left Ollie's talons as a set of paws, and left Ollie herself as a snowy owl no more, but a Jack Russell Terrier.  Ollie's outfit started to change as soon as her physical transformation finished. Her vest opened up at the center, and although it could be buttoned-up, she was now opting for the unbuttoned look. Afterward, the gray color turned into a mixture of red and white boxes, the pattern going from solid to plaid. The vest was once sleeveless, but that didn't stay true as proper sleeves formed on them and had a length that could reach down to Ollie's wrist, although they were rolled up to her elbows at the moment. As for the red shirt underneath it, this rode upward and wrapped around her chest as the sleeves became thin straps, most of the back gone as it was left as a mere bra. The flannel shirt would be tied in a knot just underneath it, revealing a decent bit of midriff in the process. Ollie's pants became tighter, the material turning into blue denim with holes forming at the knees and a bit more near the thighs - though this was actual damage was purposeful, Ollie's pants now a set of torn jeans. The blue spats over her feet and glasses over her eyes both vanished into nothingness as if she never had them on in the first place.  Last to go would be Ollie's mind. She was rapidly forgetting about having ever been Ollie in the first place. Memories, hobbies, personality, all contorting and swapping into an entirely different person. Now, her music prowess was much stronger, with Ollie now having ideas of how to play multiple instruments and how to tune them along with knowledge of music theory and everything that goes into creating a catchy, hit song of multiple genres. She had studied music for years, and became one of the most popular musicians out there now. She was very laid-back, and never let fame get to her head. So much so that she never performed in stadiums nearly ever, opting to play at town squares for free. She had zero desire to make any profits from touring, she just wanted to spread the music! She wasn't Ollie anymore, but K.K. Slider!  With a new body, reality itself was altering. No longer was the canine here to sample new music, but just getting ready to put on a performance outside the record store for all of her fans. The fake guitar that Ollie was air strumming too became real, with proper strings forming onto it as the wood became genuine. Now, Slider was strumming the guitar gently, adjusting the strings to get them in tune. Once she was satisfied, she got up out of the booth and returned out to the floor of the record store.  "Ah! K.K. Slider! Are you all done warming up?" the deer man behind the counter perked up as soon as he saw her walk out. He was a big fan!  "All done Lars." she nodded. "Please, you can just call me Slider. Rolls off the tongue better, no?"  "O-okay! Sorry, I'm not used to big stars being here. Especially one as big as you!" the deer gave an embarrassed chuckle as he rubbed the back of his neck.  "Wouldn't be big in the first place if it wasn't for places like this selling my albums!" Slider answered with a laugh of her own. "I just wish I didn't have to sell it. I'd much rather anyone be able to hear it whenever they want."  "It gets played on the radio enough for most people to know at least one of your songs! I've always been fond of the less big, slower jams myself."  "Those are some of my favorites. Feels more intimate. Just me, my voice, and my guitar." she hefted it up for emphasis. "You have good taste."  "Oooh Slider just said I have good taste." Lars squealed before blushing harshly. "S-sorry, I'm just fanboying a bit, ignore me."  "I wouldn't even ignore a fan, especially one that helps share the music!" Slider said smoothly. "But I'm not different than you or anyone else. I'm just a gal playing her music for the world for people to listen to."  "Gosh that's so cool..." Lars muttered to himself before shaking his head. "S-speaking of! It's about time for the concert! I think a crowd is already outside waiting for you!"  "Shouldn't keep them waiting then." Slider said with a grin. "I'll come back after the show and we can talk more. Fans can come in and get autographs too if they want. If it'll make anyone's day, I'll do it."  "They'll appreciate that, I know!" Lars gave a small bow. "If you wouldn't mind signing one of my guitars after everything, I'd love that!"  "Of course. But after the show. I think they've all been waiting for me long enough, don't you?"  "Oh yes! I'll listen from here! Make sure to keep the door open so it isn't muffled!"  Slider nodded, walking out of the record store and to the lot in front of it where all kinds of animals of all ages, genders, and species were waiting for her, all of them cheering loudly as soon as she walked out. It was a feeling that never got old, seeing how many people from so many generations came out just to listen to the tunes of a simple dog with a guitar. And she'd make sure the experience was worth the trip out!  "Hello everyone! Thank you all for coming here tonight!" she called out with a wave of her hand out to the crowd. "We're going to have a good time tonight, and thanks to the store behind me for hosting it. I'll be inside signing autographs and talking with you all after the show! Make sure to buy something and support places like this that share music with the world! Now then, let's bring some music into your world tonight, shall we?"  And the concert began.
