With the Guardian, Osiris, and Saint 14 crammed into the cockpit of her tiny ship, Alia’s Ghost had never felt so claustrophobic. The three were packed in tight - Alia in her seat, and the lovers squeezed in the back - and as the ship climbed up the thin barrier of Nessus’s atmosphere, one thought was on all their minds. “Maya…” Saint muttered. “Maya.” Osiris nodded. The two glanced at each other in concern. “…Yeah, can someone catch me up?” Alia glances back. “Who exactly is she?” “A scientist.” Osiris answers. “Part of the Exodus Indigo. She was Ishtar, back during the Golden Age. And a founder of Future War Cult.” “A remarkable woman.” Saint nodded. “…Some would say controversial, but remarkable nonetheless.” “Right…” Alia slowly nodded too. “…And she’s the conductor.” “She is.” Osiris shifted. “…At least, something that claims to be her.” “You think it could be an imposter?” Saint asked. “Copies of Maya have existed before.” Osiris turned. “The Vex certainly aren’t strangers to her. But no.” Osiris inhaled. “No more an imposter than you are.” Saint seemed to inhale too. He settled back as much as he could in his cramped little corner and gazed out of the cockpit window. “So…” Alia inhaled. “This might just be a me thing…” “Guardian?” Osiris glanced back at her, intrigued. “…She was hot, right?” Alia smirked. “What?” Osiris blinked, quickly echoed by a newly invested Saint. “What?” Alia scoffed back. “I’m just saying.” “She’s our enemy, Guardian.” Osiris lowered his eyebrows. “Yeah, but…” Alia swallowed. “I mean, come on… did you see her legs?” “Guardian!” Saint protested indignantly. “Oh, come on!” Alia scoffed. “We are not going to discuss the attractiveness of our enemies.” Osiris huffed. “Gah…” Alia exhaled. “Killing me here…” “Do you want to go into battle with your mind on their body?” Saint scoffed. “All I’m saying is, there’s something there, right?” Alia pleaded. Her plea was then met with a brief silence. “…Ghost?” Alia turned. “Nope.” Ghost shook. “Not getting involved.” “God, you’re all prudes…” Alia sighed. With that, Alia did the only thing she could. She sat back, gazed out of the window, and lingered in the awkward silence she had produced. “…I mean,” Saint then cleared his throat. “If there is something there…” “Saint.” Osiris glared. “All I’m saying,” Saint raised his hands, “is that we’re not the best judges.” “…Yeah, true.” Alia sighed. “Sorry.” “Don’t worry about it.” Saint nodded. “Though if we’re talking about it…” “Saint.” Osiris turned. “We’re not talking about it.” “Oh yes, we are.” Alia smirked. “Go on?” “I had found myself… distracted,” Saint braced himself. “By some foes.” “Oh yeah?” Alia grinned. “No.” Osiris nudged Saint. “We’re not talking about this.” “You know those witness creatures…” Saint leaned in. “The tall ones, with Stasis and Strand?” “The subjugators?” Alia grinned wider. “Saint…” Osiris pleaded. “They have…” Saint cocked his head. “Good legs.” With that, Alia instantly broke down into a hyena cackle of joy. Thrashing back and forth in the chair, she giggled her Exo heart out as Osiris sighed loudly into his palm. “Ah…! Good legs, huh?” Alia chuckled. “They are distracting.” Saint admitted. “You know what?” Alia smirked. “I’m glad you said it. They are distracting.” “See?” Saint nudged Osiris. “It’s not just me!” Then he turned back to her. “It’s high time we do something about this… tactical distraction.” “You’re goddamned right.” Alia smirked. “…Are we starting a support group for bad guys with sexy legs?” “Exactly.” Saint grinned back. “We will teach ourselves to ignore their legs while we rip out their spines!” “By the Traveller…” Osiris sighed. “Hey,” Saint patted his arm. “Not all of us have your patience, Osiris. Some of us are distracted by our… less than trained feelings.” “I can’t understand you two.” Osiris scoffed, shaking his head. “That is fine.” Saint squeezed his shoulder. “Simply let us talk about our attractive adversaries, and train to be less hesitant.” Osiris took a deep breath, Saint clutching his shoulder the whole time. “Fine.” Osiris chuckled. “Train your libidos then.” “I knew you would see reason, my love.” Saint grinned, squeezing affectionately. “Guardian!” He called out forward. “Let us deafen ourselves to our enemies siren song, and charge to victory unimpeded!” And swiftly upon returning, the two got to work.
